The Digital Banking team is responsible for our Digital Bank products. We are currently building platforms responsible for ACH, Wire, Bill Pay, Zelle, Debit, Checking, and Savings applications, that allows teams to create products at scale and allow digital channels to deliver compelling experiences in a dramatically faster fashion. As the Product VP of Digital Banking, you will be responsible for building this innovative technology framework that facilitates developer productivity without compromising on quality at enterprise scale. You will be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle and partner continuously with many stakeholders daily to stay focused on common goals. As the Product VP, your mission will be to lead a talented technical product team through the envisioning, design, system architecture, and rollout that enables world-class digital products for banking. Understanding of payment schemes (ACH, SEPA), reliable data exchange (file & API), distributed transactions, high performance transaction processing, and other banking-domain related skills are a plus. Our mission is to accelerate the pace of financial innovation and build new financial products for American Express. Our platform streamlines the process of launching and iterating financial products. Responsibilities:
* Provide hands-on business strategic leadership, inclusive of establishing approaches for product management and monitoring progress at large scale. Partner with senior leadership to ensure strategies tie to business unit objectives.
* Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional leadership, including senior legal & finance partners to define and review updates, achieve legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements, and ensure a stable and low risk banking experience.
* Establish directional strategy and roadmaps for the platform inclusive of the resolution of technical problems, tech debt, and solutions.
* Define and ensure an elevated level of product quality, advocate and influence high[1]quality product requirements documentation.
* Balance short and long-term priorities against the business needs.
* An expert in platform development with experience in defining API’s, workflows, and caches.
* Ability to negotiate contracts, schedules, and service level agreements with third parties and clients.
* Estimate project timelines, ensuring that projects you own stay on track and escalate as needed.
* Be comfortable communicating with broad audiences and senior executives.
* Mentor Directors and Sr. Managers to be successful and support career growth.
* Help hire new talent to build the strongest team.
* Present performance and scale statistics of each solution.
* Ensure products are delivered on schedule to market.
* Ability to work in a priority-driven environment, managing multiple and changing tasks. Qualifications:
* 12 years of hands-on experience in financial services writing business requirements, hardening functionalities, and a minimum of 5 years of management experience with an increasing level of responsibility and oversight.
* Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated experience in defining vision, strategy and execution roadmap for complex multi-year programs with successful implementation.
* Proven track record of building high-performing engineering teams who write and deliver great software products.
* Demonstrated mastery of banking and payments domain.
* Exceptional technical capability, with deep knowledge of and experience with modern software development practices and agile methodologies
* Experience in leading large strategic teams of Product Managers/Directors.
* Recognized as an authoritative engineering leader, whose input is widely solicited across the organization.
* A strong collaborator and communicator. You can communicate effectively with anyone, from technical engineers to strategic business partners. Communicate business strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering transparency and trust.
* Financial and resource management. Proficient managerial skills required to operate a large organization, including budgeting, resource planning, staff management, etc.
* Experience facilitating effective and timely resolution of risk-related issues, including those identified by internal audit, regulatory reviews, or internal assessments.
* Experience partnering closely with legal, procurement, and other stakeholders to negotiate complex technology agreements with strategic vendors, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk management considerations.
* Proven ability to effectively oversee contract compliance, including monitoring vendor performance, managing contractual obligations, and enforcing key terms to mitigate risk within a heavily regulated environment.

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
