About the Role:

The Vice President, Product Management for ClinicalKey and Clinical Pharmacology will help shape and execute the product strategy, detailed planning, and flawless execution for our comprehensive suite of Global ClinicalKey solutions, including our award-winning generative AI-powered point-of-care solution ClinicalKey AI. This role is pivotal in enabling innovation, driving growth, and global expansion of our platform. This high-impact position requires healthcare experience, specifically developing solutions with physicians and hospital pharmacists as end users.

Responsibilities:

Providing leadership, direction and mentorship for direct and indirect reports, including product managers in the group. Inspiring your team to reach new heights in innovation and execution. Fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and professional growth within the product management team. Encouraging creative thinking and continuous learning. Challenging the team to meet high standards while guiding them to achieve those expectations. Promote a high-performance environment where excellence is the norm.

Helping shape and execute the product strategy for ClinicalKey and Clinical Pharmacology based on direction from the SVP. Be a key player in defining the future of our ClinicalKey product suite. Effectively balancing ongoing improvements demanded by the market with strategic opportunities to unlock growth in white spaces. Building alignment with leadership and peers to create product roadmaps and execution plans that maximize organizational resources and market opportunities.

Providing strong technical product management leadership to create a clear, well thought through and defined execution plans, ensuring the team understands the vision and steps required to achieve it.  Leading with technical excellence and strategic foresight. Proactively predicting and mitigating risks to ensure on-time delivery of complex initiatives, including those requiring support from platform teams and vendors that may not be within your direct control.

Ensuring that all product management processes and practices are aligned with best-in-class standards and that the team consistently delivers high-quality outputs on time and within budget. Striving for operational excellence in all endeavours.

Developing a deep understanding of the customer, their environment and challenges, translating this knowledge into actionable product strategy. Collaborating closely with the SVP to ensure that strategic decisions around assigned products align with the overall vision and direction. Contributing to decisions about new markets and product innovations that drive market expansion. Collaborating with GTM teams and cross-functional leadership to ensure new products and features are taken to market effectively and benefit customers.

Working with internal and external technology partners to ensure excellence in ClinicalKey generative AI efforts. Leading the charge in integrating cutting-edge AI technologies. Driving formulation of overall research/testing strategy with UX team to ensure data-driven product decisions. Basing decisions on robust data and user insights.

Building effective cross-functional relationships with all other leaders and teams at Elsevier. Fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Collaborating with GTM, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to support the development of detailed GTM plans, collateral, and training.

Evolving product usage metrics strategy and ensuring metrics are communicated and understood by all internal stakeholders. Challenging the team to make data driven decision and know their “numbers”. Working with the reporting team to ensure reporting is prioritized and delivered as needed.

Requirements:

Extensive experience in product management, with a focus on healthcare-focused SaaS and B2C applications. Proven track record of success in driving product led innovation, resulting in double digits growth of a product line that is $100m+ in baseline revenue.

Proven experience in managing and mentoring professionals at all levels, encouraging skill acquisition and professional growth. Proven track record of motivating teams and driving high employee engagement. Capability to lead and direct product strategy execution, balancing market demands with strategic growth opportunities.

Technical acumen paired with a track record in scaling SaaS products and delivering complex initiatives on time. Experience in developing solutions with physicians and hospital pharmacists as end users, with a deep understanding of their environment and challenges.

Commercial acumen with the ability to evaluate and quantify opportunities, understanding how SaaS businesses are measured and how product influences those metrics.

Proven experience in fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement within a product management team. Excellent communication skills, executive presence and collaborative approach to build cross-functional relationships and engage effectively with senior leaders and strategic customers.

An inquisitive, problem-solving mindset. Data-driven with intellectual curiosity, a predisposition to explore and learn, acquire data and create and test hypotheses across different verticals and industries. An ability to distil key information from extensive research; ability to argue, summarize, and illustrate analyses in a presentation format; ability to make the complex simple.

Proven ability to prioritize, share information efficiently, meet deadlines and deliver in a multi-project, fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple parallel assignments. Experience crafting executive briefings for senior leaders, demonstrating Discipline and an appreciation of detail in solving puzzles and presenting information.

A collaborative self-starter, able to navigate complex corporate and cross-functional team environments and dynamics. Experience with AI and integrating innovative technologies into product strategies would be advantageous.
