Vice President, Product Management

Mastercard Processing is an end-to-end business driving growth in key market segments such as fintech, disrupters and new-to-payments players. Driving value to our customers as a platform for innovation built on reliability and trust. Driving value to Mastercard by supporting the Consumer Product strategy towards issuers and consumers as well as driving new use cases and payment flows. Current regional focus is Europe and EEMEA – with growth into other regions on the roadmap. For this business we are looking for the head of the Product team.

The VP Head of Product is a highly visible global VP Product Management role that will report to Senior Vice President, Mastercard Processing. The VP will not just be critical for advancing the Processing team through the product development of the Processing product, also working across other Consumer Product teams to define value propositions for Mastercard more broadly.

This role requires strong strategic thinking with a demonstrable ability to lead a product function, drive growth across multiple markets, a solid payments business orientation, proven cross-departmental leadership in a matrixed environment, detailed knowledge of the payments value chain, an innovation mind-set and strong leadership capabilities.

As the business is going through a transition and pivot to not just global growth but a global delivery model there is a change leadership element to the role as well. Evolving the team to operate from multiple hubs, embedding.

Collaboration with regional and market product, technology, marketing, legal, finance amongst others is critical to the success and building a strategy, roadmap and execution model that can deliver at scale.

Responsibilities include:
•\tLead and develop the Issuing Processing Product team. Build and develop an inclusive team with the Mastercard Way at it’s core. Coaching and developing to achieve team’s potential, driving a high-performance culture, assessing talent needs regularly. Doing so across multiple locations in multiple geographies.
•\tResponsible for setting and communicating product vision & strategy – working with regional partners to align with, and become incorporated into regional strategies. Be the voice of the Issuing Processing Product internally and externally.
•\tIdentifying and understanding market developments, the competitive landscape, regulatory evolutions through overseeing the research and development agenda. Leveraging market insights, research and best practices working both internally and externally.
•\tResponsible for product development & delivery – working across Product and Engineering to align solutions, delivery operating model, capacity management, etc. so ensure delivery agility and quality.
•\tCollaborate closely with cross functional partners (marketing, legal, privacy, CX, financial), and technical teams to identify and translate market needs into a global product strategy and product plan for execution.
•\tEducate internal Mastercard teams on the global issuing processing strategy and value proposition, delivery of new product initiatives, while providing thought leadership on the development and execution of go to market plans as well as regional specific strategies.
•\tDrive global innovation and development of new offerings, product features and enhancements for deployment. Leverage Mastercard assets and insights to create innovative solutions and services.

All About You
•\tExperienced team leader with experience in developing product strategy and overseeing successful execution against strategy and commercial targets.
•\tStrong experience in payments ecosystem. Knowledge of the payments value chain and key drivers within the payments industry, including emerging trends and pressures.
•\tStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work across cultures with and influence both senior internal and external partners.
•\tExhibits tenacity, encourages healthy debate, and challenges conventional thinking.
•\tExperience in driving (cultural) change initiatives. Driving new ways of working with global, multi-cultural and remote teams, while operating in an ambiguous environment that is evolving rapidly and delivering against objectives.
•\tPossess strong intellectual curiosity with effective research skills to understand and synthesize complex topics quickly while developing actionable recommendations.
•\tExperience translating strategies into product execution and implementation plans - strong execution skills with ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment, manage multiple stakeholders, and influence partners to drive results.
