OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION
The RCT deals with new regulatory developments starting at the pre-publication stage (for example analysis and response to consultation papers, discussion papers, draft regulation) up to full implementation. It covers financial regulations in the UK, EU- wide, US, and some topics from overseas jurisdictions where MUFG-Securities (London) has licenses. Topics are allocated to team members who become SMEs in that area, and who will be responsible for their topics by engaging at the various stages of the regulatory lifecycle. Amongst other, this includes reviewing and opining in Consultations, developing impact analysis of newly published regulation, providing regulatory advice throughout the implementation of new regulations, attending trade associations meetings are representing MUFG at those meetings, producing briefing papers, newsletter articles, and general MI.

Become the SME on those regulatory topics under his/her responsibilityBe up to date on all regulatory developments under their responsibility, by performing targeted horizon scanning.Complete impact analysis of regulatory developments, maintain records of their impact analysis in the GRC system.Escalate any material risks arising from the regulatory developmentsAdvise key stakeholders on the application of new requirements, risks from those requirements, and controls required to manage them; this includes at the earlier phases of consultation as well as during implementationParticipate and when needed lead pre-implementation working groups with relevant stakeholders.Become the go to person during implementation, where he/she will provide regulatory advice and opinion.Prepare briefing papers, presentation, memos, newsletter articles, traceability documents, and general MI on the topics where he/she is responsible.Support other team members when required.Interact with other teams both in Compliance, and outside Compliance where relevant.Attend and participate in trade association meetings, representing MUFG.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Functional / Technical Competencies:
Strong understanding of the UK and EU regulatory frameworkExperience on working with regulatory text in the topics covered by the role, and particularly on EMIR and derivativesStrong technical understanding of investment banking activities, and securities trading.Previous exposure to trade associations.Previous working experience in wholesale banking, either in a compliance department, consultancy firm, regulatory agency or trade association.PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
