Vice President, Supply Chain Management

Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the **Corporate Vice President, Strategic Supply Chain Management** will oversee all strategic and tactical aspects of supplier management, including product performance, quality, delivery, cost, and service support. This role is integral to achieving Alamo Group's short-term and long-term objectives. The position involves leading global supply chain organizations across Strategic Sourcing, Tactical Purchasing, Materials Management, and Transportation & Logistics to drive continuous improvements in supplier acquisition costs and supply chain processes.
Essential Functions of the Job:
+ Develop and implement “Best Practices” across all Supply Chain Management (SCM) disciplines.
+ Lead corporate-wide cost improvement initiatives through supplier consolidation and strategic growth with preferred partners.
+ Establish objectives for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and product standardization, with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.
+ Collaborate with operational teams to align supply chain strategies with corporate goals.
+ Visit Alamo Group locations to strengthen relationships, review project plans, and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Host monthly virtual SCM team meetings and an annual conference to foster collaboration and review strategic developments.
+ Negotiate and manage long-term Commercial Supply Agreements, prioritizing projects based on spend and cost improvement potential.
+ Conduct periodic reviews with key suppliers to monitor progress in quality, delivery, cost, and service performance.
+ Review, analyze, and discuss leading economic indicators with Management to drive appropriate actions and align strategies with market trends.
+ Distribute market updates and commodity index insights to relevant stakeholders.
+ Provide monthly action plans and cost improvement reports to management and supply chain teams.
+ Standardize procedures for price evaluations, RFPs, and cost comparisons.
+ Establish key performance metrics to drive cost, quality, and delivery improvements.
+ Enhance freight and logistics processes to reduce costs and improve carrier performance.
+ Ensure compliance with domestic and international trade regulations, including tariffs and customs requirements.
+ Oversee international sourcing initiatives, including partnerships with low-cost country (LCC) suppliers and operations in China.
+ Provide regular transportation and trade compliance training to internal teams.
+ Manage and improve import/export logistics, reducing ocean freight costs through consolidation and process optimization.
+ Drive the adoption of advanced SCM tools and systems (e.g., MPS, MRP, ERP, SRM Portals, and EDI) to improve analytics and processes.
+ Develop and deploy tools for analyzing supplier quality and delivery performance.
+ Support professional development through training, advanced education, and trade association involvement.
+ Execute and/or lead corporate projects as assigned.

+ **Financial Acumen** : Understanding of budgeting, cost analysis, and financial performance metrics. Proficient in assessing supply chain-related financial risks and opportunities.
+ **Ethical Integrity** : Commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
+ **Execution Excellence** : Proven ability to deliver measurable results in cost reduction, service improvement, and operational efficiency. Ability to consistently meet or exceed KPIs and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
+ **Flexibility** : Availability to work irregular hours and travel domestically/internationally (approximately 20%).
Education and Experience:
+ **Education** : Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or a similar degree required; Masters in Supply Chain or MBA strongly preferred.
+ **Experience** : 15+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management or a related discipline, preferably within a multi-site global manufacturing environment. Strong negotiations skills are necessary. Proficiency in financial analysis and strategic decision-making is essential
+ **Professional Certifications** : CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
