The Airborne Systems Business Area (ASBA) within the Leidos Defense Systems Sector has an opening for a Vice President, Air Integrations and Operations (AIO) Division. This division’s areas of focus include aircraft mission equipment payload integration, data collection mission operations, aircraft deployment and logistics management, business growth, and capture efforts.
Work location for this position will be Northern Virginia.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Airborne Systems Business Area (ASBA) SVP, the Air Integration Operations (AIO) Division Manager provides overall leadership for one of three ASBA divisions. The AIO Division manager will have full P&L responsibilities for the division, which will include managing a fleet of aircraft equipped to perform persistent sensing, data fusion/processing, platform integration, operations provider and fleet maintainer for training and airborne mission operations. Responsible for an employee population of 200+ employees and subcontractors. Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and SIGINT, ELINT, COMINT, IMINT and various other ISR sensors, and geographically dispersed and deployed teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Solely responsible for P&L and growth for a portfolio of programs.
Scope of responsibility includes leadership with a commitment to building a high-performance team which includes direct reports and successfully collaborating in both a functional and larger corporate matrix organization.
Develop and execute division specific strategy that is in alignment with the ASBA, Sector and overall corporate strategy.
Strong ability to collaboration with CTO and BD office on IR&D and B&P investments and priorities.
Safe, effective and efficient worldwide aviation operations, to include pilots, air crew, operators, maintenance and associated equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, and 15+ years of prior relevant experience in aviation, program management, business management, engineering and business development required; or Master’s degree with 13+ years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years of team leadership experience, working with a distributed organization, over multiple time zones, and a demonstrated record of leading and managing an organization or commercial company.
A minimum of fifteen years’ experience managing one or more program(s) of high complexity providing airborne products, services, and customer support greater than $200M.
Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
Steeped in Aviation expertise both in operations and integration of sensors and systems.
Extensive experience with sensor integration and employment and data products.
Experience supporting operations both CONUS and OCONUS to include managing geographically dispersed employees working in austere locations.
Established/proven working relationships across the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Airborne communities to include an understanding of competitors’ capabilities, key players and decision makers and likely strategies within that market.
Experience leading medium to large scale teams in execution of an operations and services portfolio of programs.
Strong customer interaction skills with government contracts, specifically within the airborne DoD market space.
Demonstrated collaboration with other internal corporate business areas and external partnerships to bring a best-in-class solutions.
Experience with new organization construction standup and scaling to meet growth needs.
Experience with business case development and reporting to sector and corporate leadership in alignment with strategy and to develop buy in.
Direct experience working in a classified environment.

Experience in identifying potential partners, developing teaming agreements and working with other team members to develop a total integrated business solution. In depth experience with the operational requirements of customer base.
Experience in leveraging IRAD to develop technology discriminators.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are essential and should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
A technical bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
Experience managing an aviation organization including aircraft modification and facilities management, as well as a deep understanding of and background in Airborne ISR, Aviation and related technology.
Proven success transitioning airborne technology programs to operational use.
Personal experience in deployed aviation operational environment.
Experience in mergers and acquisition process—target identification, evaluation, closure and integration.
Familiarity with financial management and contracting approaches and processes.
Established/proven working relationships across the Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Airborne CLS communities - to include an understanding of competitors’ capabilities, key players and decision makers and likely strategies within that market.
