**This Opportunity** WSP seeks to hire a Vice President to be leader in WSP’s **Civil and Ground Engineering Services,** with a focus on the Solid Waste and Mining Sectors. The position can be based in any of the Southwest States but will roll-up under our California Region of our **Earth & Environment Business-Line** . The candidate will play a key leadership role in our California and Southwest States as we continue to strengthen and expand our Civil and Ground Engineering Services. In this role, you will be a leader who leverages cross collaboration with other WSP business-lines such as Transport and Infrastructure (T&I), Property and Buildings (P&B), Energy, Water, Federal, Advisory Services, and Project Management and Construction Management (PMCM) to bring value to our clients. design and construction quality assurance for solid waste containment systems, preparing permitting documents for solid waste facilities, landfill gas compliance and management, preparing fill sequence and master plans for solid waste facilities (experience in more than one area preferred) + Extensive experience in leading teams providing CQA services for Solid Waste and Mining Sector Clients + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software + Ability to work both independently and within groups + Excellent work history with leadership abilities and a positive attitude + Candidate must interact well with the public and clients and have excellent teamwork skills + Advanced proficiency with making technical computations and calculations involving the application of engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations. + Works independently and provides guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC. + Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization. + Tactical lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment. + Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, regulators, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits. + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. + Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs. + Routine travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master’s Degree would be an asset. + Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training and other relevant industry safety training (OSHA Hazwoper, MSHA) WSP Benefits: WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
