The Fund Finance Group (“FFG”) provides a comprehensive product offering to financial sponsors and asset managers across subscription finance (syndicated/bilateral subscription facilities), NAV/Hybrid lending (syndicated/bilateral NAV lines and back-leverage), structured credit & advisory (non-bank NAV placement, rated feeders, CFOs), and distribution. FFG resides within Banking & Capital Markets within Wells Fargo’s Corporate & Investment Bank.
Prospective team members will have the opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and global team during a period of innovation across the Fund Finance market. The candidate will work as part of integrated deal teams to originate, structure, and execute fund finance transactions for some of the world’s largest and well-known financial sponsors and asset managers.
The role will include meaningful client interaction and a real opportunity to contribute to the evolution of the FFG product suite during a period of expansion. **In this role, you will:**
+ Working closely with senior bankers to create & deliver pitch materials and originate & structure Fund Finance transactions.
+ Relationship management for a portfolio of financial sponsors and asset managers, fostering active engagement, idea generation, and providing regular client support and assistance.
+ Conducting credit analysis on LPs and portfolio companies, overseeing the preparation of credit memorandums and related materials, and leading credit discussions alongside senior bankers.
+ Collaborating with other areas of the bank (Risk Solutions, Financial Sponsors, Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Commercial Real Estate, Structured Products Group) to drive ancillary business to deliver for clients across the Corporate & Investment Bank.
+ Leading credit and operational due diligence meetings.
+ Working closely with internal and external counsel on the negotiation of facility documentation for new deals, upsizes, extensions, accessions and other amendments.
+ Liaising with internal stakeholders (credit, legal, syndications, treasury, operations, agency, KYC) throughout the end-to-end execution of fund finance transactions.
+ Contributing to portfolio analysis across the broader Fund Finance team portfolio.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Experience in Investment Banking, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ Extensive experience in one or a combination of the following: capital markets, investment banking or industry-specific sector;
+ Bachelor's or Master’s degree;
+ Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of personal accountability;
+ Direct client interaction experience, including some experience interacting with senior decision makers;
+ Experience reading, negotiating, and/or interpreting legal documents;
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills;
+ Strong interpersonal and presentation skills;
+ Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, including ability to coordinate multiple work streams and deliver against tight timelines;
+ Demonstrated experience in analyzing financial statements.
+ Experience in using Excel to analyze and clearly present data.
+ Proficient use of Word and PowerPoint.
+ Self-starter with a willingness to work hard, and a strong problem-solving mindset.
**Desired Qualifications:**
+ Experience in Fund Finance, including originating and structuring subscription and NAV facilities;
+ Familiarity with private equity funds;
+ Fluency in an additional language is a plus
