Job Description:

GTB is a key growth business within TDS that provides the opportunity to make an impact with top tier organizations.  We offer innovative solutions and treasury advisory services on large and complex liquidity, payments, and trade finance needs.  The business constantly changes with macroeconomic conditions, unprecedented levels of innovation, interest rate environments, and Foreign Exchange ("FX") movements.  As a result, all GTB business lines continue to evolve to provide optimum trade finance, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients.

GTB is comprised of four business lines: Global Trade Finance ("GTF"), Corporate Cash Management ("CCM"), Financial Institutions ("FI"), and Export and Agency Finance ("EAF").

Global Trade Finance (TF):

Clients principally include Fortune 500 and 100 companies with head offices located in North America and Europe, as well as TD Business Banking and clients of strategic foreign banksDevelops client centric solutions to remove or reduce payment risk or facilitate working capital by employing trade finance products (Standby Letters of Credit / Guarantees, Import Letters of Credit, Export Letters of Credit, or Documentary Collections) associated with client's domestic business needs or foreign sales and purchasesSupports strategic foreign banks and their clients' needs in North America & UK and acts as a trusted partner to mitigate risks in our marketsWorks closely with internal TD internal partners to provide "One-TD" solutions to our clients

Job Description:

Reporting directly to the US Head of Origination, GTF, the role will be responsible for providing account management for an existing portfolio of U.S. domiciled and multinational clients. The candidate will also assist in the origination of new Trade Finance opportunities.   

Primary accountabilities of the role will include:

Responsible for working with the team of Originators to support the day-to-day account management of clients across various sectors.Proactive support of the Trade Finance origination team; assist in issue resolution; completion of internal trackers; opportunity identification; creation of client and strategy presentations.Heavy interaction with internal partners on execution of lifecycle of deal requirementsProfitability review of clients the TF business, understanding the client P&L and relationship return.Focus on structure and organization of the client relationship.Ability to understand market data, economic information and key industry developments.Act as first line of defense and understand the Bank's risk appetite while balancing business goals and objectives.Understand and comply with all internal and external policies and procedures.

Requirements:

This role is suited to a detail-oriented individual with a client-centric focus, and a strong understanding of and demonstrated judgement related to credit structuring, execution, and risk. This candidate must be a subject matter expert in traditional Trade Finance (SBLCs/bank guarantees, export LCs, imports LCs, etc.) This candidate will have the ability to identify Trade Finance business opportunities and deliver mandates effectively. The successful candidate will be a strong advocate and trusted advisor for their clients, while balancing the requirements of GTB and the firm.

 
Qualifications for the suitable candidate include the following:

Traditional Trade Finance product knowledge across various structuresStrong capacity for teamwork with U.S. based and non-U.S. based colleaguesExcellent interpersonal skills including an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externallyMinimum 7 years of direct Trade Finance experience within a major financial institutionPrevious exposure to credit origination and facility structuring Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to deliver compelling presentationsAbility to drive resolution of client issuesUndergraduate degree ideally complimented with an MBA &/or CFAAbility to travel in North America

The Vice President - Global Transaction Banking, TD Securities will develop the product strategy and build out the value proposition for the Corporate Cash Management business across North America, maintaining and enhancing the Bank’s profile and market share, acting as a catalyst and transformational change agent for the bank.

Depth & Scope:

Works closely with senior leaders in articulating the strategic vision for the business to define GTB's customer value proposition and corresponding product offering suite, setting us up to compete effectively against the established global financial institutions (FIs)Stays up to date with the rapidly evolving payments and receivables market offerings including Fintech, Partners/Vendors and FIs. Understands changes across the payment landscape, from regional low value (ACH) to high value (Fedwire, CHIPS) and cross-border (SWIFT) payments, and other payment innovations (real-time payments, FedNow, ISO), uses this knowledge to identify where we can leverage solutions to creatively address a Corporate client's treasury needsHave a good understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape across North America, and able to break down complicated legal concepts to bring treasury solutions to our clientsBe the 'Voice of the Customer' by working with our clients to understand their needs and staying up to date on the latest changes in the treasury industry. Able to assess any potential impact on corporate treasury processes, and direct / influence how TD builds technology and processes to meet evolving expectationsPartners with the origination team to advise and support corporate treasury clients on their unique needs by bringing deep subject matter expertise in the cash management and payments spaceProvides internal and client facing thought leadership in cash management and treasury innovations across the global industry, and producing relevant materials to support the origination teamBe an innovative product owner that adopts new ways of working to help our clients solve their complex challenges or improve our operating efficiency (e.g. streamlining businesses processes or adopting new tools and technology)Develops eminence that fosters value-add conversations with our stakeholders (internal and external) and represents GTB at industry forums (e.g. AFP, SWIFT and the Fed)Takes ownership and accountability for all related products and platforms, maintaining a client-first mindset that ensures all aspects of product development & strategy (e.g. design, delivery, client onboarding, etc.) are frictionlessWorks with senior leaders across the organization to identify new opportunities and directly or indirectly manages the activities for multiple functions across the enterprise (e.g. project management, risk and compliance, legal, technology, operations, etc.)May mentor and develop junior members

Education & Experience:
