The Global Debt Market Line of Business Compliance Officer will have responsibility for advising business and support functions on non-financial risks and regulations. The Global Debt Market Compliance team is part of the Markets and Security Services Compliance Team, and is a Second line of defense (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Group’s businesses. This individual generally works under the Director of FICC Compliance, but is expected to act with a great deal of autonomy. The US GDM Line of business Compliance Officer, MSS is the senior Risk Steward responsible for independently challenging the MSS GDM business to appropriately manage the Regulatory Compliance risks that they face. The role is a key risk management role with a broad remit and responsibilities including, but not limited to
As our Vice President MSS Advisory Compliance - Global Debt Market you will:
Provide effective oversight of the operational effectiveness of critical policies and systems with a view to ensuring regulatory compliance and related reputational risk is managed appropriately
Coordinate regulatory matters, including examinations, inquiries and investigations and liaise with the relevant Internal Audit, and control functions (e.g., Finance, Credit, HR, Corporate Secretary’s Office, Tax and Security), in relation to compliance matters including the provision of technical support and guidance
Stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes, particularly where relevant to GDM, to ensure proactive communication with the business and contribute to appropriate policy and framework changes
Responsible of areas of responsibility include advisory on regulatory matters, monitoring of business activities from a compliance perspective, training and education, drafting and revising policies and procedures, and risk stewarding the business led assessments
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $138,400.00 and $207,600.00
The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:
Minimum 7 years proven audit, compliance, financial services operations and/or regulatory experience, or equivalent with experience in Credit or Fixed Income preferredStrong background in compliance within a financial services environment and able to understand, interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements to business practices
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business, related field or equivalent experience
Well-developed communications, negotiation, analytical, organizational, project management and strategic and/or operational planning skills
Proficiency with personal computers and software packages including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
