Vice President of Corporate Development

The **Vice President of Corporate Development** will lead M&A activities for the enterprise collaborating closely with executive stakeholders to identify, evaluate, prosecute M&A, define and outline the company’s M&A strategy. This individual will collaborate with executive leaders to design and articulate the inorganic strategic direction of the enterprise with multiple stakeholders including executive leaders, board members, lenders, and others as appropriate. The VP of Corporate Development will report to the SVP of Strategy and Corporate Development and will work closely with the CEO, CFO, CTO, and CGO on integrating inorganic initiatives with the overall corporate strategy. **This is a hybrid role, working 3 days a week in our Herndon, Virgina office. US citizenship is required. The ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance is preferred.** JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: + Work closely with executive leaders on M&A and inorganic activities to ensure alignment, transparency, the rationale (strategic and financial), and financing are well understood. + Conduct industry research and competitive analyses in support of potential acquisitions. + Identify and source proprietary M&A and inorganic investments. + Develop, expand, and maintain relationships with industry bankers and advisors. + Build and maintain M&A pipeline for internal communication and operating picture. + Coordinates company participation in management presentations and the development of indications of interest/letters of intent. + Provide business and financial due diligence analyses of various aspects of acquisition targets’ financials, customers, sales, costs, and operations. + Manage external professional advisors’ due diligence activities in support of acquisitions. + Leads cross-functional teams conducting due diligence on potential acquisition targets. + Provide Senior Executive level reports and valuation analysis in support of acquisitions. + Develops integration strategies and post-closure assimilation plans for acquisition targets. + Manages overall merger and acquisition function for corporation, to include preparation and briefing of deliverable products and presentations to senior executive leadership. **EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:** + Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from a highly regarded US graduate business school is **preferred.** + Preferred at least fifteen **(15)** years of well-rounded, multi-functional experience in industry, investment banking, private equity, and/or strategy consulting, with at least five **(5)** years of recent experience with specific emphasis on mergers & acquisition activities. + Personal experience leading the analysis of multiple acquisition candidates, including valuations and presentation of recommendations to senior management, is a **must.** + US Citizenship is required. + Recent experience in the US Government Services and/or Aerospace & Defense market is highly **desirable.** + Successful culmination of multiple acquisition deals of varying sizes, including at least one acquisition exceeding $100M in value, is highly **desirable.** + **The ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance is preferred.** **TRAVEL:** High degree of domestic and international travel required.
