$110,000-$120,000 Annually
Under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, the Vice President of Development will develop strategy and guide practices that advance philanthropy at the YMCA of Greater Rochester. The Vice President of Development will oversee the YMCA's annual giving strategies and execution, implementation of capital and programmatic major gift strategies, oversee the YMCA's development operations systems (including database, online giving, etc.), and overall constituent management (including identification, cultivation, and stewardship). The Vice President of Development will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, overseeing the annual giving and development systems teams, and be part of a team that successfully meets and exceeds fundraising goals in all areas. The role prioritizes project management. The Vice President of Philanthropy is part of a team that is fulfilling the mission and vision of the YMCA through philanthropic support while providing the leadership necessary to ensure the overall philanthropic approach is effective and efficient.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Lead key Development operations and strategy that specifically include annual giving fundraising, development systems, constituent management, annual giving stewardship, and development events.
• Lead a staff of development professionals to develop strategy and execute a comprehensive Annual Giving strategy that empowers staff and volunteers to seek gifts of $1,000 through face-to-face interactions; and develop and execute annual giving strategies for all other gift levels with a focus on multi-channel approaches, segmentation, and analytics.
• Lead implementation of programmatic and capital major gifts strategies, including managing a team of direct fundraisers.
• Provide project management for major fundraising initiatives for all type of giving.
• Lead development operations to maximize fundraising in all areas, including annual, capital, grants, programs, and planned giving.
• Provide innovation and leadership for developing and maintaining a prospect pipeline and the overall best practices for constituent management.
• Participate in developing cases for support with Development team and key stakeholders from across the Association.
• As part of leading development operations, provide oversight for development systems, including database, online giving platforms, planned giving tools, and other platforms as needed.
• Oversee development systems including day-to-day operation and long-term strategizing for data usage.
• Oversee execution of best-in-class stewardship program that leads to multi-year, capital, and planned giving.
• Provide oversight of project management for all development events.
• Attend all required training, meetings and events.
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree required.
• CFRE preferred.
• Proven development experience in a leadership role (7+ years in leadership), with a strong track record of successfully leading campaigns, campaign management, advancement services (including donor data, moves management, proposal creation, and development systems), and multifunctional staff-teams.
• Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to influence direct staff, colleagues, senior management, and volunteers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience managing development database systems, with Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing data analytics to drive decision-making.
• Direct face-to-face fundraising experience preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to think strategically, work collaboratively, and make informed decisions.
• Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to sit or stand for the duration of the shift
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
• Ability to travel to all YMCA locations as required
