Job Title: Vice President of Finance
Job Description

The Vice President of Finance (VPF) is responsible for providing a comprehensive and effective financial management system. This includes internal financial controls, accounting systems, budgets, internal and external financial reporting, and financial analysis and planning. The VPF manages the financial operations of the organization to ensure financial health and sustainability, overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance functions, and tracking organizational financial metrics. The VPF reports to the CEO and is responsible for managing the Finance Department. This is an exempt position.

ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize, and direct all financial policies and procedures, implementing improvements to increase the efficiency and efficacy of the Finance Department.Serve as the chief financial advisor to the CEO regarding all financial issues.Prepare or supervise the preparation of annual operating budgets for approval by the CEO in coordination with program departments.Evaluate business models and new business opportunities in line with the agency's strategic goals.Ensure financial compliance with laws, regulations, contracts, and funder policies.Identify, measure, analyze, and communicate financial information used for planning, evaluating, and controlling financial operations.Evaluate and advise on financial risks and opportunities to maximize the organization’s financial position.Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal laws, regulations, policies, and practices related to financial management.Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting functions through supervision of the finance department team.Oversee the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including funding sources, regulatory and tax agencies, and lending institutions.Maintain proficiency in DDS Op Plan and annual report preparation, DCF budget and annual report preparation, and Single Cost reporting requirements.Maintain positive and cooperative relationships with major funders including DDS, DCF, DSS, DMHAS, State Department of Education (SDE), and LEAs.Essential SkillsStrong knowledge of accounting principles, organizational budget development, and control.Proficiency in financial operations of non-profit organizations.10+ years of financial and supervisory experience.Ability to lead Finance Department staff to achieve organizational goals.Personal qualities that reflect the agency’s core values: compassion, collaboration, commitment, trust, expertise, and safety.Ability to work cooperatively with the Executive team to implement the strategic plan.High motivation towards personal development and continuous improvement.Proven capability to work as a team member, responsive to organizational priorities and changing needs.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with GAAP and financial analysis.Experience in managing finance in a non-profit setting.Work Environment

This position operates in an office setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00
