Job Summary and Qualifications The Vice President of Human Resources at Galen College of Nursing leads strategic human resources and talent planning, provides work force guidance and develops recommendations for managing all aspects of the College’s human capital. This role supports the Galen College of Nursing human resources direction for all Galen Campus locations across the nation and ensures that all aspects of the people strategies are aligned and executed upon. The role will report to the Regional Vice President, HR for HCA Healthcare HealthTrust and work daily at the direction of the CEO, Galen College of Nursing and the Galen Cabinet. As a member of the CEO’s Cabinet, this role will provide strategic insights and planning, support the culture of the College to ensure all employees implement the attitudes, experiences, ethics, and values of the College, create the desired workplace culture and workforce engagement and help establish and drive key HR strategic initiatives and support daily operations to the broader Galen College of Nursing organization. What you will do in this role: + Co-Create Business and HR Strategy + Be an active and valued member of the Galen College of Nursing CEO Cabinet + Define talent needs and the overall national and regional people strategies to enable continued growth and realization of the College’s strategy/performance + Oversee all aspects of the company's human resource operations, including, but not limited to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits implementation, administration and analysis, EEO compliance, labor relations, and organizational development to ensure the College continues its recognition as an employer of choice + Engage the Cabinet and College Deans on key leadership development needs & programs; partner with HCA Healthcare L&OD Center of Excellence to deploy appropriate development programs, executive coaching/mentoring + Co-lead implementation of Galen wide strategic talent planning processes (performance assessment & review, succession planning, org and employee development) + Partner with HCA Healthcare / HealthTrust leaders on strategies related to nursing care, quality, safety & compliance, physical security, data security, professional ethics, etc., co-creating strategic initiatives to create an environment of compliance/excellence and success for Galen + Promote the College’s vision, mission and iCARE values to foster a culture of teamwork, trust, communication, diversity, and customer service excellence + Lead the Human Resources team to deliver strategic and operational HR support throughout the College + Serve as a delegate of the HealthTrust RVP to the HR professionals working across Galen College of Nursing + Serve as a culture champion, ensuring alignment to mission, vision and values and external stakeholder expectations + Promote and foster healthy work environment; ensures a culture of inclusion and accountability + Engage business leaders through change management, non-routine performance management issues, etc + Analyze and prioritize the critical business challenges faced by the College, provide insight into human resource industry trends, strategic guidance, and meaningful data and analysis to maximize effectiveness + Oversee statistics and compilation of reports for the Department of Labor, Boards of Nursing, National League for Nursing, and other accrediting bodies + Lead process of ongoing position budgeting review & management; ensure workforce and hiring plans are aligned with span of control metrics, budgets, productivity metrics, etc. + Oversees people strategies through disaster situations What qualifications you will need: + Bachelor’s degree is required + Master’s Degree preferred + 10+ years of experience in relevant work experience in progressive leadership required + PHR or SPHR preferred + Healthcare experience preferred + Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills in a diverse workforce with demonstrated ability to analyze, define, and set priorities across complex situations while motivating others toward shared goals required **Human Resources Group** empowers our people to grow and **give purpose** to the HCA Healthcare culture.
