Job Summary
The Vice President of Risk Management and Compliance will oversee the organization's compliance framework, ensuring strict adherence to industry regulations while leading risk management and customer onboarding processes. This leadership role involves managing a team of specialists, maintaining compliance for payment products, and collaborating with senior leadership to address regulatory needs and audits.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruitment and talent management efforts to build a high-performing team aligned with business goals. Develop and present comprehensive compliance and risk reports to senior leadership and governance committees. Oversee internal and external audits, examinations, and information requests, implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage underwriting and risk teams to onboard and monitor customers, ensuring alignment with policies and risk profiles. Maintain and update risk management documentation, including merchant underwriting policies. Ensure compliance with Nacha, card brand, and network regulations. Drive employee compliance training initiatives, fostering a culture of regulatory awareness and adherence. Advise leadership and board members on emerging regulatory and licensing changes, assessing potential impacts. Perform additional related duties as assigned.Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 8+ years of underwriting experience. 5+ years of management experience. Proven knowledge of financial institutions and regulatory frameworks.Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Card Brand and network rules, Nacha, UDAAP, FDCPA, FCRA. Certifications such as ACAMS, APRP, or AAP. Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and collaborative skills to drive results.Skills and Abilities
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational abilities with acute attention to detail. Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
