System One is actively seeking a Vice President of Sales for a permanent position working onsite in Portland, OR.

Assist in the development of marine business plans and strategies for targeted growth and profitability improvement. Assist management in strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting. Sell company capabilities to Marine and Offshore industries (equipment & services). Secure jobs / contracts through marketing and networking to meet sales targets. Review quotations and cost estimates and ensure bids are comprehensively estimated and submitted as per client’s requirements. Identify, assess and manage risks relating to the contracts or projects.
VP of Sales Duties and Responsibilities: Trained in accordance with job responsibilities and applicable specifications. Develop opportunities to expand marine platform with additional products or businesses. Assist with marketing / sales activities of products and / or services. Assist in the development of short and long-range objectives and recommends goals to higher management. Develop and maintain key marketing, sales and business contacts. Assist in the formulation of advertising campaigns, publicity releases and promotional activities. Effective time management, able to organize and prioritize responsibilities by creating and executing a plan to meet objectives and deadlines. Responsibilities also includes planning and project performance, addressing cost, schedule, and technical quality issues as they arise.
VP of Sales Qualifications: The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices. Ability to listen, ask questions, isolate, and communicate a position of understanding assuring successful resolution between client and company. Ability to operate successfully within a multifunctional organization. Will provide guidance based on company goals and policies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Financial proficiency and understanding to maximize profitability and performance. Familiar with ABS rules and USCG regulations. Knowledge of shipyard/naval architectural/ marine engineering consulting firms. Good work ethic, enthusiastic, proven track record of successful results. Sense of urgency. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in marine / offshore / maritime industries. Have existing client base with marine and offshore industries, such as handling equipment, rig owner (new build and repair), rig building contractors and sub-contractors, etc. Thorough understanding of business development and marketing practices and strategies. Strong interpersonal skills in building and improving communication process between the various functions within the organization and that of external customer representatives.
