The VP of Sales and Marketing is the guardian of UMC brand, value proposition, and distinct differentiators. The VP of Sales and Marketing ensures that operational competitive advantages for all business lines are communicated effectively both externally and internally creating and tracking essential KPIs to measure effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals. The VP of Sales and Marketing is collaboratively responsible to ensure that all the above evolves strategically over time in step with changing consumer preferences, organizational growth and market trends. The ideal candidate for this role is an intellectually curious, tech-savvy, senior living sales and marketing leader who balances a keen eye for day to day details with a strategic vision, capable of solving complex challenges creatively while maintaining a positive, motivating presence to coach and develop team members through periods of growth, disruption, and change. As part of the UMC disciplinary leadership team, the VPSM will contribute to organizational change and future growth. Requirements for a Vice President of Sales and Marketing: + Undergraduate degree in related field from an accredited college or university. + 5 years or more experience with all levels of care and community contracts. + 5 years of experience in corporate marketing and the flow between corporate and local level identities. + 3-5 years of collaborative multi-site leadership experience with a proven capability of driving success through coaching, motivating, training and supporting sales teams. + History of successful oversight of sales flow inventory mix and pricing to maximize sales in challenging situations. + Comfort with web and new social media applications, timing and support required to bring them to market. Responsibilities for a Vice President of Sales and Marketing: + Revenue Generation and ROI + Focus on top-line performance for all business lines. + Collaborate with the community Executive Directors and Sales and Marketing Directors to establish sales and marketing strategies relative to occupancy goals. + Lead UMC strategic partners and drive accountability by consistently measuring ROI of community marketing strategies and budgets to ensure inquiry generation. + Track and trend relevant KPls and make strategic adjustments per community as needed while maintaining overall balance of the community marketing budgets. + Management accountability for each community Marketing and Sales Department team performance. + Development and execution of multi-channel marketing plan in collaboration with UMC resources and strategic partners. + Development, delegation and execution of community outreach and referral networking plan (including various referral campaigns). + Oversee and delegate collaborative execution and measurement of marketing tactics. + Enforce appropriate sales standards to ensure high quality customer experience at each community. + Ensure metrics driven accountability with each sales team. + Coordinate, deliver and evaluate all sales training and coaching for UMC. + Lead and referral management and analysis. + Along with other leaders, develop occupancy targets for each community. + Performance review and professional development for all sales team members. + Oversight of budgeting and expense management for each community. + Assist with direct sales activities as needed. + Sales Culture + Represent the voice of the future consumer with senior leadership as business decisions are made. + Collaborate across disciplines to ensure positive, distinct, and memorable customer experiences across business lines (often includes role in new employee orientation to help establish expectations for organizational culture). + Adapts marketing and sales best practices in support of other organizational initiatives (e.g. recruitment and retention follow a sales and marketing playbook in order to compete for limited labor resources. Using social media, speed to lead, direct mail, cold calling, and other "sales" oriented activities now apply very directly to best HR practices). + Develop sales standards for direct selling, networking and outreach team members and maintains accountability. + Strategic Vision and Management + Oversee productive and collaborative relationship with strategic partners providing direction and accountability to performance goals, analyzing metrics, and problem solving. + Executes on the overall organizational strategic vision to ensure messaging, positioning, budgeting, metrics and other key variables evolve appropriately as UMC changes and grows overtime. + Sets measurable goals and benchmarks to ensure alignment with long-range planning objectives. + Contributes to future strategic planning with an eye toward innovation, changing consumer expectations, and market influences. + Brand Strategy and Standards + Owns the overarching strategy of UMC's unique positioning within the market. + Ensures successful communications and evolution of messaging across all business lines. + Influences differentiating brand characteristics throughout operational decision-making especially related to resident/family/community-facing services, amenities, and programming. + Maintains relevant awareness of local and industry consumer trends and ensures UMC service offerings continue to be aligned with the interests of future consumers as well as current residents. + Communications Planning and Resourcing + Oversight of any public relations and content strategy + Collaborate with public relations partner on any crisis communications. + Coordinate internal and external messaging with any agency partners. + Coordinate appropriate CRM(and other) Systems Integrations + Maintain quality data flow for lead, resident, occupancy, referral, and other critical data needed to inform organizational decision making. Integrations may include: + Website + Accounting Systems + Point Click Care + Professional referral sources + Digital marketing tools including automated emails + Google analytics + Lead the adoption and integration of company-invested marketing and sales technologies (e.g., CRM systems, add-ons, data visualization tools, virtual tours) across the organization, ensuring alignment with community needs and providing guidance and training to enable effective use by team members.
