The Vice President of Technology leads all aspects of technology, including development, support, and operations, and serves as a key member of the senior management team to achieve business goals and ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
Essential Functions:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement technology strategies and budgets to achieve business objectives. Monitor market trends and innovations to inform strategic plans.Collaboration: Partner with Risk Strategies leadership to align business unit efforts with enterprise-wide technology goals, including information security and infrastructure initiatives.Client Support: Provide technology expertise in sales and marketing efforts to win and retain clients, ensuring technology solutions enhance client satisfaction and operational efficiency.Performance Metrics: Establish and report on technology KPIs, including platform availability, software quality, and user satisfaction, to evaluate overall performance.Software Development: Oversee software engineering and product development, including architectural design, agile methodologies, coding standards, and roadmap execution for market competitiveness.Infrastructure Management: Implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions and DevOps practices, including continuous integration and automated testing, to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage technology vendors, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and performance expectations.Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and evaluate technology staff. Create career paths for roles such as software engineers, QA engineers, and DevOps specialists, fostering professional growth and excellence.Qualifications:
Master’s degree in business or technology management preferred.10+ years in senior technology leadership roles within $25M+ revenue organizations, preferably SaaS with 15+ years in software engineering and quality assurance of client-facing platforms.Proven track record in managing SLAs and client-facing technology services.Deep experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).Proficiency in Microsoft .Net Core, MS SQL, and modern UI frameworks (React, Angular).Knowledge of healthcare system integrations (e.g., FHIR, HL7 APIs).Experience building and leading cross-functional technology teams, including product management, engineering, and infrastructure.Skilled in ITIL-based management and PMO methodologies (PMP/PMBOK).Expertise in information security frameworks (ISO 27001, HITRUST).Proficiency in Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) and cloud monitoring tools (DataDog, NewRelic).Strong written and verbal communication with C-level executives and stakeholders.Risk Strategies is the 9th largest privately held US brokerage firm offering comprehensive risk management advice, insurance and reinsurance placement for property & casualty, employee benefits, private client services, as well as consulting services and financial & wealth solutions.
