Summary:
This role is responsible for growing and optimizing a portfolio of existing clinical workers compensation programs and a maturing clinical-captive insurance risk taking “start-up” venture that is novel to the industry for it’s approach to align the goals of patients, providers and insurers in Worker’s Compensation.
Candidate will build strong relationships with Worker’s Compensation referral sources across the Midwest and nationally with the goal of serving more patients. This includes marketing the services of Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, the #10 Rehabilitation Hospital in the country according to US News & World Report to existing and potential referral sources (physicians, case managers, attorneys, insurance adjusters, TPAs, self-insured companies, municipalities, etc.). And, for leveraging the Mary Free Bed Insurance Company’s willingness to share risk to develop innovative value-based arrangements for new onset catastrophic, individual legacy cases or entire portfolios of workers compensation business.

Increases worker’s compensation admissions to Mary Free Bed programs: Attend professional conferences to represent Mary Free Bed Analyzes referral patterns and prioritizes opportunities to increase business Makes regular sales calls on worker’s compensation referral sources Develop appropriate worker’s compensation specific materials including: website, digital outreach, printed collaterals, patient stories Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the competitive environment for workers compensation referrals and differentiate Mary Free BedCreate a culture across Mary Free Bed departments of concierge level of care and communication based on patient and payer needs including Seamless transitions of care Integrated provider-payer case management standards and reporting Education and alignment of clinical teams to goals of patient, provider and payer Consistent outcomes reporting and measurement back to referral sources
Create viable risk-sharing models between Mary Free Bed and insurers that lead to greater patient outcomes and reduced overall costs and assist in establishing this as a “NewCo.” Broaden nationwide Mary Free Bed business development efforts, generating national outcomes-based relationships with reinsurers, insurers, self-insured employers Ensure appropriate business plan, funding, and operational plans are sustained Formulate a strategic plan to facilitate growth of “NewCo,” and by identifying potential strategic partners and/or investors for possible capitalization of Newco Responsible for the growth of top line revenue and operating margin of “NewCo” Develop a reliable clinical and financial risk model for evaluating new business (individual cases, legacy cases or other) and reinsuring risks Leadership Must-Haves will be followed for patient and staff interactions: Embrace Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, by:

Essential Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Education, and Training Requirements):
Bachelor’s degree required; Masters’ preferred 10 years professional experience with at least five years in an insurance environment Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to create something disruptive to the market Strong analytical, decision-making and communication skills Ability to multi-task and delegate tasks for timely project completion General knowledge of healthcare products and services and principles of marketing and sales Self directed and motivated by helping patients receive the best care available. Physical Demands: Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time) Able to lift, carry, push, pull, up to 10 pounds occasionally Able to sit for the majority of the time, but may involve brief periods of time involving walking or standing. Able to use keyboard frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time)
