Your Impact:
Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced consultant with a diverse environmental background to assume a leadership role as Vice President and Operations Manager in Tetra Tech’s Chicago, IL office, who will also lead affiliated Midwest offices in several satellite locations, including Cleveland, Detroit, and Indianapolis.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead an established operation that supports multiple clients in several Midwest states. This operation has a solid foundation of contract backlog with over 100 staff at various experience levels whose qualifications include environmental science, geology, engineering, geographic information systems, data management, and other disciplines.
The primary work includes supporting the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in all CERCLA/Superfund process phases, from emergency response and site assessment to remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and cleanup actions. We also support compliance, due diligence, property development, planning, and community engagement efforts for various other federal, state, municipal and commercial clients.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree required. PE, PG, CHMM, PMP, or other professional certification preferred. 12+ years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. Demonstrated leadership of a diverse team and knowledge of operations management, including recruiting/hiring, P&L responsibility, developing annual operating plans, maintaining budgets, and overseeing office administration. Experience managing large environmental and other projects/programs ($5 million+ in annual revenue) for Federal, state, municipal, and/or commercial clients, including U.S. government agencies such as EPA or DoD. Experience and successful track record in all phases of business development, including building and maintaining client relationships; identifying, tracking, and positioning for opportunities; preparing proposals; and leading or supporting client interviews/oral presentations. Excellent client relations and communication skills. Successful history of serving in leadership and supervisory roles that include mentoring and career development at various levels of experience. This position requires driving regularly. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required. This position requires passing a criminal background check.Work Environment:
We continue to build a tight-knit team in an office-based environment with an entrepreneurial spirit that is excited about working together to develop new opportunities and successes for the team. The candidate is expected to be physically present in the Chicago office each day. Travel up to 25% to other Tetra Tech offices and various client sites as well as for operational planning and other internal corporate collaboration meetings is required.
