Role is part of Client Instruction Capture and Settlements, managing Trades Processing, Broker Facing and Fails Management, Trades Support
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the workflow through the life cycle of Custody Trades. Maximize team capacity through effective resource planning and ensure team structure is robust through effective training and succession planning Monitor and management of trade capture, fails management and settlement activities. Address settlement discrepancies/issues and leverage escalation channels promptly Provide effective communications to the department, ensuring staff are aware of strategic and regulatory changes in the organization Review of content and presentation of Standard Operating Procedures, in line with new policies and ongoing risk management activities. Lead the delivery of strategic, process improvement and regulatory projects of Custody Products Identify business model, operational process, systems, and resourcing impacts resulting from these initiatives; working in partnership with key stakeholders including business, technology, compliance, risk, and finance as required. Maintain a robust and auditable governance process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of overall project, through use of project framework, methodologies, reporting and appropriate escalation. Translate business requirements into value-added, comprehensive solutions and test plans using appropriate processes, procedures, and technology Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, provide leadership, direction and focus for business functions and project resources. Possess continuous improvement and change management mindset, questioning conventional ways of managing the business and driving change to improve processes.Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
Minimum 5years management experience in an Operations role with strong people management skills and develop/guide staff in a team orientated environment Operational subject matter expertise in Settlements, Fails Management, Trade Support, Risk and Control, and Custody Strong ability to learn ongoing stream of new markets, products, and processes Strong risk and control awareness, including the ability to effectively prioritize workloads and work to critical deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner with all types of stakeholders, at all levels across the business areas including senior executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Problem solving skills – the candidate must demonstrate exceptional judgment and the ability to independently identify and escalate key issues, obtain appropriate information form further analysis, and develop actionable recommendations. Teamwork skills – the candidate must be flexible in his/her/their work style and be able to work appropriately with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels. Ability to partner with multiple internal teams, external clients & 3rd party service providers.Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Global Custody or Local Custody background Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferred Experience in driving projects and initiatives Familiarity with swift messages specifically MT54 series Good knowledge in MS Office Suite applications - MS Word, Excel and Power Point Capable of working under pressure and to cope with changing volumes, whilst maintaining accuracy and quality. Flexibility working on APAC and late APAC shift
