Victim Advocate I or II **Grant Funded**
Overview Interviews clients to determine immediate and crisis intervention needs. Develops short and long range goals to promote and enhance their self-sufficiency and change behaviors that have become barriers to reaching that goal. Staff will do this by providing a case plan that meets that individual's needs. This position requires a high level of empathy and sensitivity to all incoming inquiries. Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional six (6) months experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care. Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers; or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
