The role of the Project Management Officer involves interacting with clients and educating them on the technical aspects of solar projects. It also includes working closely with the sales and project teams to help find innovative solutions for different clients. Working with multiple teams also allows for insights into various sectors, which can be used to better target clients.
Challenges :Accurate project estimation is a major challenge that can play a crucial role in the success of a project. A deep understanding of the technical aspects of executing and operating a solar power plant will also be necessary to educate and clarify client concerns. Educating the sales team on the solar offering and the design aspects of solar power plants is an ongoing process to enable them to convey the right information to their clients. HSE Environment: Ensuring the highest HSE standards are implemented to meet Group standards. This often involves implementing additional processes beyond what is standard in the operating region.

The main tasks will be as follows :
Assess site characteristics, constraints, and analyze client consumption demands during the prospecting phase ;Support the business development team in sales presentations/offers and negotiations with clients ; Generate leads for new clients and partners ;Conduct feasibility studies for a solar project, including capital expenditure estimation and solar power plant performance simulations ;Develop high-value technical solutions and structure winning proposals ;Participate in the launch of tenders for study or selection of EPC and assist in EPC selection and contract negotiation with the project development team and procurement team (MEA Hub) ;Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies standards throughout the design and bid preparation phase ;Coordinate with the design team and/or EPC to prepare and follow local approvals and regulatory obligations ;Support the business development manager in preparing files for internal investment committees ;Prepare the transfer file from the sales and business development team to the project management team ;Assist in researching opportunities and partnerships (EPC, consulting firms, etc.) in the market (identification, appointment setting, follow-up, etc.) ; Coordinate the qualification of service providers (EPC, consulting firms, etc.) with the support of the Hub ;Monitor industry developments (competition, regulations, etc.) potentially impacting DG activity development in Africa ;Ensure project development follow-up and coordination with our partners ;Develop, monitor, and update various presentation materials (prospecting deck, monitoring, investment committee, business review, etc.) ;Develop and update a database of prospects (update the status of prospects met, enter new targeted prospects, etc.) ;Develop commercial offers in connection with local teams and those of the MEA Hub.Expected qualifications:
MSc degree or Engineering degree with a dual specialization in renewable energies and salesTechnical skills:
Initial experience in technical salesExperience in direct customer contact rolesExperience in project development would be appreciatedExperience in solar project construction would be highly appreciatedKnowledge of sales and engineering in the renewable energy fieldComputing skills:
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office package, in particular Excel (calculations, modeling), Powerpoint (presentation deck design) and Word (page layout, text entry)Knowledge of solar-specific software such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, SolarGIS, Helioscope, Solarlab, SketchUp or MS ProjectLanguages:
