The Opportunity:
• The VDI Administrator will be responsible for supporting systems and applications on a geographically dispersed Windows Enterprise network with multiple types of servers and server applications.
• The VDI Administrator will be directly responsible for the effective and efficient operation and interconnectivity of a Department of Defense Network and will execute the actions required to correct deficiencies or shortcomings and to improve system performance and efficiency.
• The VDI Administrator will provide senior level knowledge and Tier 3 support to the customer and their components to include Tier 3 infrastructure, design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support that builds, configures, and administers several hundred servers in their area of operation.
Responsibilities:
• VDI Administrator will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required , demonstrate a strong background in managing VDI solutions (VmWare Horizon preferred), follow technical guidance from fellow team members, leadership, and customers about maintaining, operating, and evolving VDI environments and be able to independently action that guidance, maintain high service availability by liaising with many stakeholders to identify risk and threats to the delivery of VDI services, rapidly identify and correct faults impacting service delivery and other duties as assigned.
• Secondary responsibilities will include developing, maintaining, and updating VDI Virtual Apps and Desktops environments as required.
• Experience with VDI deployments, specifically VmWare Virtual Apps and Desktops, is required.
• Candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing technical standards (SOP, TTP, implementation instructions, other required documentation) and monitoring processes for information systems.
• Candidate will collaborate and liaise with other teams within the organization as well as VDI/VI team members to identify, track, and report on opportunities for system optimization, methods to drive efficiency, identify and reduce error rates, and empirically document customer experience.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must be a US Citizen
• Candidate must possess an active DoD Secret level security clearance, and be eligible to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
• VMware vSphere and ESXi administration experience
• Experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VMware Horizon)
• Establish security and cyber controls including STIGs, scans, logging, monitoring
• Senior level knowledge of supporting Operating Systems: Windows Server 2019 and Windows 10/11, VMWare PhotonOS
• Strong virtual infrastructure and storage background.
• System-level troubleshooting (software, OS, hardware, and networking)
• Organization and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and develop new skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Motivated, self-starting individual
• Ability to work with emerging products where documentation and additional support is often not available.
• Ability to be self-directed while also collaborating and communicating with teammates and customers.
• BA/BS + 5 years recent specialized or AA/AS + 7 years recent specialized
• VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (DCV) or Desktop Management (DTM), NetApp Certified Data Administrator, or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator
• DOD 8570 IAT Level II or greater
• TESA eligibility
• On-Call Availability
Desired:
• Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, or other scripting languages
• Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational need
• Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
• Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
