Summary:
A virtual registered nurse (RN) is responsible for remote patient management and care in the inpatient setting. As a member of the patient care team, the RN collaborates, communicates, and facilitates care with providers and patients or families. Virtual nurses maintain patient anonymity and safety through the use of various technological platforms. To be successful in the role, a nurse should be comfortable making autonomous clinical decisions to provide patient-centered care. Experience working with EHR systems is required.
