Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Visiting Researcher for the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Serebrenik Laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, at Rutgers University – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, is seeking Visiting Researchers. This position will focus on research in the areas of neurodegeneration, genomics, proteostasis, chemical biology, and high throughput microscopy. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the applicant conducts and assists in laboratory research, procedures, and analyses in support of specialized research activities of the laboratory. Assists in the set-up and conducting of experiments as required. Performs other related laboratory duties as required.
Among the key duties of this position are the following: Assists in the establishment of experimental protocols, performance standards, as well as in the selection of methodology and instrumentation. Assists with the maintenance of the Laboratory facilities, equipment, and instruments, which may include but is not limited to preparation of culture media, reagents, stains, and stock solutions. Assists in packing, unpacking, storing and classification of lab supplies and specimens. As assigned, performs various research and technical procedures. Those technical research and technical procedures include, but are not limited to, using CRISPR gene editing technology for functional genomics experiments. Assists with instructing, mentoring and training of graduate/undergraduate students and lab assistants as required. Keep detailed records of procedures and experiments; may be required to compile data and present findings and results at laboratory meetings and/or national meetings.
