You will manage the Visual Merchandising Program which includes the oversight of a team of visual merchandising personnel. So, what might a “typical” day look like?
oImplement and maintain an effective Visual Merchandising Program including timely merchandise presentation assistance:
Shop set upsTechnical guidance on planogramming, displays and signing.oSupervisor, coordinate, direct and train visual merchandising personnel. This includes providing adequate staffing, setting performance standards and evaluating performance.
oInstruct and train sales/stock associates in visual merchandising procedures, techniques, signing compliance and standards.
oYou will work in conjunction with the management team on fixture layouts/installation, merchandise adjacencies, allocation of space and monitoring the floor for enhanced store standards.
oCoordinate with District Manager and District Visual Merchandising staffs in the development and planning of budget requirements.
oAids and assists in coordination of promotional events that support our image of the “Navy Family Store”.
oAssists in store resets, renovations, and remodels when required.
The Qualifiers:
oMust possess the knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties:
Three years of general experience, which was gained in administrative, technical, or other responsible work in understanding visual merchandising techniques, methods and skills. Show an eye for attractive displays, merchandise presentation and in-store signing.Plus two years of responsible experience which provided knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and practices; display and presentation of merchandise and signing; maintaining equipment and materials; layout and installation of fixtures; or similar work showing the above knowledge, skills and abilities in visual merchandising.oMust pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

VISUAL MERCHANDISING MANAGERTotal of five years of experience as follows
GENERAL EXPERIENCEThree years of experience which was gained in administrative technical or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain an understanding of visual merchandising techniques and methods and skills in the area of attractive display merchandise presentation and in-store signing.
OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE1 year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor s degree for 3 years of general experience
AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCETwo years of responsible experience which provided a knowledge of visual merchandising techniques and practices display and presentation of merchandise and signing maintaining equipment and materials layout and installation of fixtures and providing technical assistance or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge skills and abilities of visual merchandising display and in-store signing.
