Visual Merchandising Manager
Be the creative ambassador for visual merchandising within your store and the wider business. Coach and consult with colleagues to deliver an inspiring visual proposition that is aligned to Primark’s Visual Merchandising standards.

Reports to: Store Manager / General Manager

This role will:Be responsible for the visual proposition across the store and lead and develop a high performing visual merchandising team. Collaborate with the Store Management team to deliver impactful visual displays that exceed customer expectations and maximise sales
 Key Responsibilities:


Brand
Understand the Primark customer needs, shopping habits and fashion preferencesReflect the Primark customer in the latest trends through excellent product presentation, windows and mannequin stylingChampion visual merchandising best practices and principles to create visual displays to influence the customer journeyReview visual merchandising allocated areas and coach store teams to adapt displays to make them commercially successful and relevant to the Primark customer and refresh with alternative product if key pieces become unavailableUtilise knowledge of stock and availability to support customer queries and provide excellent customer service and style adviceConsult and advise colleagues to support the visual proposition throughout the storeManage and oversee the launch of all new visual merchandising campaigns providing direction to the visual merchandising team to deliver campaigns effectively and within agreed timeframesCommercially astute with knowledge of current fashion trends and the fashion retail market identified by competitive (comp) shopsCollaborate with store management team to maintain visual merchandising standards throughout the storeConduct floor walks with managers consulting on plans for any layout or visual display changes

Communication
Provide feedback to colleagues regarding successful product lines, suggestions on sold through lines and the latest fashion trendsCreate a great place to work by leading your team with an emphasis on colleague experience, wellbeing, communication and engagement (Primark Way of Communicating)Research and provide updates regarding the wider commercial environment to support the visual merchandising team in maximising salesShare visual merchandising best practice and store successes with the Visual Merchandising Regional managers and other Primark stores as requiredLead management meetings and colleague team huddles providing regular updates on key visual themes, campaigns or upcoming visual merchandising activities for the week aheadCommunicate and promote Primark’s ethical, environmental, and charitable initiative ‘Primark Cares’ Work in partnership with the Store Manager to champion the importance of visual merchandising and the impact of visual displays throughout the storeConsult with the store management team to make commercially minded decisions balancing commercial with creativity for displays, floor layouts and period layout moves
Operations / Cost Control
Maintain all picture and poster POS in line with company POS guidelines and keep up to date across the storeMake sure all price tickets are displayed correctly within visual merchandising allocated areasTrack and share the success of visual accountable areas with the store management teamLiaise with the store management team on any display changes to maintain replenishment for Visual Merchandising displaysSupport the visual merchandising team to manage cost control initiatives related to stock, POS and visual merchandising equipmentMotivate the visual merchandising team to deliver excellence in operating standards in line with ‘The Way We Work’ manualAdhere to EHS and Operations policies and procedures and conduct regular visual merchandising equipment safety checksManage administrative tasks related to visual merchandising contractors where required
People
Lead visual merchandising in store delivering a creative and inspiring vision and build a team of passionate colleagues working in Visual Merchandising.Develop strong relationships with colleagues to influence delivery of high visual standards throughout the storeMotivate and inspire colleagues to deliver excellent displays in agreed timeframesConsult with the store management team, demonstrating excellent visual standards and techniques that deliver visual impact and inspire customer purchasesSupport the Store Manager with completing retail manager tasks in exceptional circumstancesDeliver training on visual merchandising principles and techniques to your teamAssist with the recruitment of additional support in VM in your store and AreaManage Workday effectively by responding to requests within timescales and activating system delegation to other managers in your absence Effectively manage the performance of your team through regular feedback to support a culture of continuous learning and to deliver great customer serviceLeverage the performance and potential of your team by identifying and improving talent with regular feedback Participate in Senior Leader visits utilising your product and commercial knowledge to discuss sales strategies
Skills & Experience
