The VMI Planner, Supply Chain is fully responsible for the replenishment planning execution for a defined product portfolio of AH products of an internal site by balancing the overall demand and supply situation with respects to the defined min and max stock targets at the B-OPU affiliates. This role is responsible for evaluating the outputs of MRP and preparing the short-term detailed production/procurement schedule for assigned materials. This may include areas of intermediate production, finished good packaging, and/or contract manufactured materials. It is also the responsibility of the VMI Planner to evaluate and calculate capacity constraints by assigned work center, to assist in developing mid to long range capacity strategies.
The VMI Planner, Supply Chain will work to achieve the corporate supply goals of customer service level, OTIF service level, inventory targets, Business Inventory Adherence, minimization of back orders and outdated inventory, and overall continuity of supply to customers. The incumbent will routinely interface with fellow supply planners, production execution, quality management, inbound/outbound logistics, as well as the Demand Planners at the BOPU level within BIAH and SNT assigned contact for intermediary actions such as product allocation decisions.
**Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Independently creates and distributes production schedules and all accompanying documentation for assigned materials based on requirements, component availability, and capacity of assigned work centers.
+ Communicates with manufacturing management and floor personnel or vendors concerning daily production issues that affect the completion of the schedule.
+ Consistently reviews, analyzes, and measures material inventory levels to ensure appropriate materials are available to meet production requirements while maintaining alignment with company inventory investment goals.
+ Puts measures in place to reduce short dated and expired material and communicate to appropriate parties specific strategies for use or disposition.
+ Proactively and independently analyzes and develops appropriate safety stock levels for assigned materials.
+ Conducts detailed inventory analysis, develops recommendations for state-of-the art inventory control, continuous improvement, and on time in full delivery practices.
+ Provides recommendations to senior management regarding optimizing production plans, vendor managed inventory, and supplier changes where applicable.
+ Completes and/or identifies other strategic analysis as required.
+ Coordinates and plans non-commercial demand (product development batches) and new product launches.
+ Monitors daily GRP alert monitor and ensures active communication to B-OPU affiliates, SNT and PSM.
+ Ensures an active communication based on defined reports and alerts to the SCM site responsible person in Global Supply Chain and BOPU CSCM in case the BOPU stocks are not in line with the agreed range.
+ Responsible to ensure QM Lots are accurate at all times. Inspection lot end date must be accurate for VMI process to work effectively.
+ Identifies necessary updates to Master Recipes for assigned materials in conjunction with MDM, PE, and QM.
+ Plans an efficient execution of product re-supply in the Global Replenishment Planning system (GRP) for BI B-OPU's by balancing and reconciliation of the overall demand & supply situation, considering challenging but achievable inventory targets.
+ Together with Operations team, optimizes the production schedule to establish the best sequence, campaigns, etc. to maximize site efficiency and capacity.
**Requirements**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline with a minimum of six (6) years of planning or direct operations experience in a manufacturing environment or other relevant industry.
+ In lieu of a degree, ten (10) years of progressive experience in planning or direct operations in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment or other relevant industry.
+ APICs CPIM certification preferred.
+ Full understanding of the Global Replenishment tool with all system parameters and ensure that the master data is complete and reviewed on a regular basis.
+ Excellent computer, analytical, mathematical, and Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Must have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills to be effective in this job.
+ Must have the ability to evaluate and interpret data and formulate logical conclusions.
+ Must be able to effectively solve problems by working with manufacturing management, quality, and supply chain departments.
