Vocational Instructor (C)

This position is located at the Hogan Regional Center (7HC) in Danvers, Ma

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) seeks caring and compassionate applicants for the role of Vocational Instructor C who are committed to building meaningful relationships in order to provide outstanding care and service. The Vocational Instructor C provides supports and monitors individuals at work in order to promote their personal well-being and personal growth.

Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive)

Provides direct supports to individuals at work, some with violent and extreme behaviors, high medical, cognitive, and/or physical needsActs as a role model to other staff in implementing all supports and interfaces with disciplinary team.Maintains in conjunction with other worksite staff, a safe, comfortable, and inviting work environment.Assists individuals in meeting his/her personal care and nutritional needs as it occurs at work or in the morning when assisting people to prepare for workAssists in the day-to-day operation of assigned worksite to ensure the provision of appropriate work supports.Assumes oversight responsibility for the worksite in the absence of the worksite coordinator.Assures active treatment as part of the team process and acts as a role model to individuals by correctly implementing all work activities as well as pre-work activities on the residencesExecutes use of Coordinated Treatment Plan (CTP) for individuals with extreme or challenging behavioral needs.Assists individuals in their transport to and from work and perform related work as required.Assists individuals in the homes in the areas of activities of daily living and independent living skills developmentand refinement, and pre-work activities by implementing established individuals support plans in order to provide anappropriate start to the workday

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Knowledge of the safety practices and procedures followed in an assigned vocational subject area

Agency Requirements:

Must possess current and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Schedule:

Full-time 40 Hours
Monday – Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Days Off: Saturday/Sunday

- One year of education equals 30 semester hours. Education toward degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
