SALARY RANGE
$33,760.00- $37,136.06 Annually $1,260.00 - $1,428.31 Bi-weekly
Position Summary
The Vocational Instructor II SES implements programs for the developmentally disabled adults living at Sunland in the area of work options. This will include line supervision of a Vocational Instructor II and coordinating services for other workers. Areas of primary responsibility will consist of recycling which will include Center and Community recyclable products.
The Work You Will Do
Perform recycling work which may include sorting, reconditioning, and preparing for repackaging of recyclable items. Also, will perform in-house cleaning, grounds policing, etc. Take preventative safety measures to ensure a healthy and safe working environment for residents and staff. Provide functional supervision/training of work trainees. Assume inventory responsibilities as well as maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
Design and implement work training programs to assist individuals to accomplish goals and objectives identified in the support plan, including safety, health, and social skills as related to the work assignments. This will also include functional supervision of trainees and training of residents.
Prepare statistical reports in order for the Center to accomplish mission as well as department goals.
Attend meetings as required, including annual support plan meetings, active treatment review meetings and staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
+ One year of supervisory experience over employees
+ Preferred but not required; At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
+ Preferred but not required; Experience working with recyclable items.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
+ Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication.
+ Knowledge of a skilled vocation such as industrial arts, shoe repair or general maintenance.
+ Skill in performing a skilled vocation such as industrial arts, shoe repair or general maintenance.
+ Ability to work in a training capacity with people in individual and group settings.
+ Ability to collect, record and evaluate data relating to the training of individuals.
+ Ability to prepare and maintain records and other instructional materials.
+ Ability to work independently.

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
