Unpaid volunteer contributing time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles.Job description:
Volunteers follow instructions from the Charge Nurse and Volunteer Office to perform volunteer functions in the department including:
Greet patients and families waiting to be admitted in the waiting room and provide them with distractions items for the wait.Escort patients and families to their assigned room.Round on patient rooms to offer toys, comfort items or food where applicable.Locate and clean wagons and wheelchairs to have available for patients.Clean toys for patient use.Volunteers are expected to come for one three hour shift each week and asked to commit to 80 hours of volunteering. Below are the current shift times with openings.
Available shifts:
Monday: 9-11:30pm
Tuesday: 9-11:30pm
Wednesday: 12-3pm
Thursday: 3-6pm, 6-9pm and 9-11:30pm
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years old and graduated from high schoolPrior medical or emergency training and/or experience is preferred.Able to follow and execute instructions.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Able to work with children in varying age groups.Able to work well with diverse populations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Sensitive to patient and family situations and dynamics.Maintain and respect professional relationships.Physical Requirements:
