Summary :The Volunteer Specialist coordinates the volunteer services program at assigned campus and oversees the volunteer’s application, interview, processing, placement, growth, recognition, and retention. Fosters communication between team members and volunteers to improve the volunteer’s experience, and supports volunteers in improving the patient and family experience.Job Description:KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinates the volunteer program and volunteer experience from application to resignation or retirement to ensure accurate tracking, and provides a positive volunteer experience.
Monitors and complies with regulatory standards and labor laws.
Works collaboratively with volunteer boards.
Maintains accurate records of volunteers and their service hours valued at approximately $700,000 to assigned campuses annually.
Establishes and maintains regular communication with volunteers and the departments that host them to solve problems and take advantage of opportunities to meet the needs of the campus.
Educates the community and team members about ThedaCare’s volunteer programs.
Works with leaders, team members, and volunteers to foster an environment of diversity, service excellence, and collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree
Two years working directly with volunteers coordinating volunteer programs or events or
Five or more years of related experience
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.
Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility.
Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers.
Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.
