Volunteers in Action Program Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY The ViA Program Assistant is responsible for the coordination of day-to-day activities, such as scheduling for Meals on Wheels and/or volunteer requests for services, e.g., transportation. The ViA Program Assistant is also responsible for the record keeping and secretarial aspects of this neighbor-helping-neighbor effort. The ViA Program Assistant substitutes in the volunteer role as needed to deliver meals, transport recipients, pick-up groceries/prescriptions, etc. The ViA Program Assistant will also help to recommend resources to neighbors who call, assist in the planning and coordination of community events, and generally offer support to ViA and the Program Lead. In addition, the ViA Program Assistant will work to support existing volunteers and help train new volunteers. QUALIFICATIONS EducationBachelor’s Degree (Preferred) ExperienceThe ViA Program Assistant should have: * A working knowledge of both Microsoft Office & Google Workplace; * A minimum of 1 – 2 Years providing customer service; * A minimum of 1 -2 Years working in a moderate stress environment; and * Experience both volunteering and interacting with individuals who are 55 years of age or older, are from low-income backgrounds, and/or have a disability (highly desired).
