ABOUT THE JOB:

VP eCommerce is a seasoned strategic leader responsible for overseeing and enhancing the overall digital experience that Willscot provides to its customers and employees. This leader serves as a digital evangelist for the organization and will drive organizational alignment on digital capabilities that will reduce customer friction and enhance the customer experience. This leader is a digital strategist and has significant experience building B2B and B2C eCommerce platforms from ground-up and growing them to profitable P&Ls. This leader is a ‘builder’ who enjoys building eCommerce platforms from ground-up. This leader will develop and own the roadmap for digital products including website, self-service portal & apps (WillScot Solutions Center) and other online platforms and evolve the tools to include commerce capability. This role involves a combination of strategic thinking, user experience design, digital product design, technology implementation, and driving digital adoption with employees and customers. This leader will collaborate with various departments, including IT, commercial sales, marketing, customer service, accounting, finance, product, and operations to ensure our digital vision and solutions align with overall business goals.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

eCommerce Strategy and Roadmap Development: 

Develop a comprehensive digital experience strategy and building a multi-year digital platform roadmap aligned with the organization's goals and objectives Develop eCommerce roadmap, starting with ability for existing customers to place orders via website and customer portal

Balance Execution & Innovation: 

Formulate the future digital vision for the organization while continuing to manage performance on a day to day basis to support the growth goals of the organization by driving high quality leads, converting traffic, and other digital engagement techniques

Leverage consumer and market trends to trial and test new concepts: 

Understand current B2B consumer trends, anticipate future consumer trends and use market developments to trial and test new ecommerce concepts and technologies. Incorporate findings to evolve the eCommerce roadmap

Drive Digital Adoption: 

Develop strategies and tactics to drive awareness and adoption of digital tools among customers Track and report on adoption of features and capabilities and refine strategies to accelerate adoption

Own Solution Design and Outcomes: 

As a hands-on leader, oversee the integration of technology solutions  in play such as content management systems, e-commerce platforms, customer portal and app, configurator tool, salesforce CRM and other operational digital solutions that will drive consistency in experience and operational efficiencies. Oversee GSIs or other software product development vendors engaged in the effort. Assess current systems, processes, and talent to determine opportunities to strengthen processes, ensure feedback loops on performance insights, and capture and incorporate real-time customer trends, data, and insights into the ecommerce design and solution Drive data-driven decision making within the function

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

Working closely with IT, commercial sales, marketing, customer service, finance, product, and operations to understand requirements and get stakeholder buy-in around eCommerce roadmap and solutions

People Leadership: 

Provide inclusive leadership, guidance, and direction to your teams.  Build and maintain a high-performance team and culture through open and clear communications, ongoing mentoring and development, and effective performance management. EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, finance, economics, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA) preferred

Experience:

15+ years of progressive experience in digital product development involving web, app or other platforms such as eCommerce or related roles Significant experience launching B2B eCommerce platforms , Next Best Action solutions and other AI/ML driven digital solutions highly desired Tech-savvy business strategist who has developed and deployed digital solutions on SAP and Salesforce and leveraged snowflake data warehouse or other comparable tech stack Track-record of managing and working with in-house software development teams as well as a variety of software development vendors, developing scope of work and deliverables and owning outcomes

Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex data. Data science mastery a plus 

Financial Acumen:

Ability to put together compelling business cases for digital transformation that garner executive support and championship for digital initiatives

Communication Skills:

Excellent communication and presentation skills. This individual needs to clearly and concisely articulate our digital vision, roadmap and customer/employee benefits

Negotiation Skills:

Proven ability to negotiate and influence strategic decisions

Leadership Abilities:

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team Ability to collaborate with key leaders in a variety of functions to drive organization alignment and commitment to digital platforms

Adaptability:

Ability to adapt to changing market conditions and business needs

Personal Attributes:

Results Oriented, self-starter with high energy who is able to balance multiple priorities and work with ambiguity  Healthy “Customer Obsession” focused on understanding needs and painpoints and developing elegant digital solutions
