The Opportunity
-1-800-GOT-JUNK? is seeking a dynamic and innovative Vice President, Engineering, in Kansas City / the greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area. This position will help drive the future of our technology strategy and execution.
-Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), this role will play a critical part in bridging business needs with scalable technology solutions. As a leader within the technology organization, you’ll guide teams to implement best-in-class engineering practices, oversee architecture, and ensure seamless integration of technology across multiple platforms.

What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership and Strategy
-Collaborate with the CTO to execute the company’s technology roadmap and align it with broader business goals.
-Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure systems across multiple technology stacks.
-Champion technical best practices, from software development to integration, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
-Drive the adoption of modern engineering tools and methodologies to optimize the technology lifecycle.
Team Leadership and Development
-Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of engineers, architects, and developers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
-Partner with the CTO on succession planning and talent development to ensure a strong pipeline of future leaders.
-Empower teams to experiment with new technologies, emphasizing continuous improvement and learning.
-System Integration and Performance Optimization
-Ensure the seamless integration of technology solutions, including CRM, web platforms, field services, and automation tools.
-Optimize system performance and ensure alignment with business requirements, reducing technical friction for end-users.
-Partner with Business Intelligence (BI) teams to embed analytics and data-driven decision-making into engineering solutions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-Act as a liaison between engineering and business stakeholders to translate complex technical challenges into actionable solutions.
-Work closely with the Product team to test and implement emerging technologies that drive growth and efficiency.
-Provide technical guidance to other departments, ensuring technology adoption and alignment across the organization.
Execution and Accountability
-Build frameworks to manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring on-time and within-budget execution.
-Regularly report on engineering initiatives, KPIs, and progress to the CTO and executive leadership.
