**Overview**
ABS Banking & Finance, part of Global Mortgages and Securitized Products, is responsible for origination and execution of term asset-backed securities (ABS) transactions and secured lending transactions. We manage a secured loan portfolio of approximately $40B to provide clients with credit capacity for warehousing collateral for future ABS issuances. We primarily focus on issuers of ABS backed by credit card receivables, auto loans & leases, student loans, equipment loans & leases, and timeshare loans among other assets. We are consistently a top 3 underwriter in the US ABS market.
ABSF is a 40 person group comprised mostly of client coverage deal teams. Our teams focus on both “regular way” deals issued by frequent ABS issuers (e.g., credit card and auto issuers) as well as working on new products for markets that are still developing (e.g., securitization of aircraft leases). Our team is responsible for origination, execution and closing of transactions. We interact with deal counsel, outside auditors and the rating agencies as we construct transactions. We work with our ABS Syndicate Desk and Mortgage Sales Force to market the securities to investors.
**Job Description:**
This job is responsible for performing financial and statistical analyses, conducting research, and participating in specific client and deal teams. Key responsibilities include developing client presentations and structuring and execution activities. Job expectations may include rotating through any of the multiple client management, credit management, and capital raising product areas across Global Corporate and Investment Banking in a sales function.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Conducts financial analyses and prepares support documentation for client presentations
+ Researches products and services in the market to gain insight into marketing and sales trends
+ Supports the trading strategy to build effective client relationships and provide customized products and services to clients
+ Participates in due diligence sessions, while communicating and interacting with deal team members
+ Assists with sales, trading, and hedging activities and documents key findings for the team
The ABS Analytics team (which is part of ABSF) supports our origination and execution efforts as follows:
+ Using BAML’s internal structuring tools, model new/proposed transactions as well as reverse engineer existing transactions and make recommendations on how to improve the efficiency of the trade.
+ Using Intex DealMaker, create a model that will be distributed to Investors to assist them with their investment decisions.
+ Provide a detailed comparative analysis of the recommendations for inclusion into client presentations.
+ Structure, rate and price securities for our issuer clients.
+ Review modeling assumptions in offering documents and tie-out with accountants.
+ Interact with both our issuer and investor clients to explain modeling assumptions and results.

**Minimum Education Requirement:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree required, concentration in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, or Computational Finance preferred
