**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Primarily responsible for timely, accurate and complete reporting to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and other various regulatory agencies. Responsible for analyzing and implementing accounting policy, and rules and regulations affecting public companies and bank holding companies; implementing financial reporting controls and process improvements, supporting regulatory change initiatives; modification of reporting processes; remediation of any issues identified; researching and responding to regulatory inquiries and exams; and preparing accounting policy memos. Performs all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all U.S., state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. **HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
+ Works with the Director of Financial Reporting to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of all external financial and regulatory reports such as: SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K’s, Earnings Release, Proxy tables, Call reports and related documents.
+ Responsible for preparing, compiling and analyzing various internal management and external financial reports. Reviews the work performed by others including the financial data required for each filing.
+ Reviews the detailed work papers of the following reports for accuracy and completeness: Bank Call Report; Federal Reserve FR Y-9C Consolidated Financial Statements for Holding Companies; FR Y-9LP Parent Company Only Financial Statements for Large Holding Companies; FR Y-6 Annual Report of Holding Companies; FR Y-10 Report of Changes in Organizational Structure; Annual HUD reports and the FR 2900.
+ Performs analysis and ongoing review of the technical application of GAAP and prepares related accounting memos.
+ Adheres to strict SEC, Federal Reserve and other regulatory agency deadlines.
+ Ensures consistency of information and appropriateness of disclosure to ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SOX, Federal Reserve, U.S. Department of Treasury and SEC regulatory requirements.
+ Ensures established policies and procedures are in place and adhered to in all financial reporting activities. Researches and partners with internal departments and external agencies as needed to close reporting and audit inquiries.
+ Maintains reporting procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
+ Monitors and validates accounting processes and works with senior management to recommend and implement process improvements as needed.
+ Works closely with several areas of the Company in support of financial reporting deliverables, including Credit Administration, Risk Management, Legal, Finance, and Technology.
+ Builds and maintains rapport with internal departments and external agencies involved in the financial reporting process, including external auditors.

**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
+ 7+ years’ experience in a progressively responsible financial reporting or corporate accounting position. Is required
+ 1-3 years’ SEC 10-K and 10-Q reporting and filing experience or public bank audit experience.
+ 1-2 years’ bank regulatory reporting experience preferred.
+ CPA or MBA preferred.
+ Prior experience in the financial services and or banking industry preferred.
+ Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including SOX compliance.
+ Familiarity with Workiva or related industry platform for enterprise-level risk, compliance, and management reporting preferred
+ Working knowledge of accounting regulations, and auditing practices and procedures
+ Effective organizational and time management skills
+ Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook
+ Advanced math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs
+ Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees
+ Ability to interact with Senior Management as an advisor on projects, and to act as the company’s principal spokesperson in area of expertise
+ Ability to make decisions that have significant impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on long-term basis Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management
+ Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed
+ Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and/or to develop forecasts and computer models
+ Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
+ Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as legal documents, authoritative reports, official publications of major scope and impact, etc., and/or to make formal presentations
+ Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties

**SALARY RANGE**
The full-time base salary range for this position is a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
