VP, Healthcare Liability Claims

This opportunity is to lead our new Healthcare Liability Claim team including managing the operational and technical work of the team and development of best practices to ensure consistent and best in class claim handling for Healthcare Liability. The opportunity

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish methods and procedures to manage, supervise, and direct the claims operations in a cost-effective manner
•Set department goals and policies in conjunction with business plans to ensure objectives are met
•Identify, analyze, recommend and implement process improvements in functional areas
•Achieve specific key performance indicators and strive to find better ways to improve overall service delivery
•Act as a critical point of escalation on complex, denied or pending claims
•Maintain current knowledge of products and services to provide direction and respond to issues
•Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external customers to accomplish organizational goals
•Assess present and future resource needs for employees and provide the leadership, mentoring and guidance necessary to build and sustain a high performing workforce
•Manage budgeted resources by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility



Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

• 10+ years relevant experience

Preferred Experience

• Experience leading an insurance claims function
•experience managing or leading others

• Advanced working knowledge of current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology and information affecting the business and organization; knows how the business works
•Advanced working knowledge of relevant claims legal and technical knowledge for all US jurisdictions
•Advanced working knowledge of insurance policy and contract language
•Advanced working knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources

Compensation

Base pay offered will vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location and business needs

Annual Salary Range: $146,000 - $220,000
