Comprehensive health benefits that start day 1Student Loan Repayment Assistance & Reimbursement ProgramsFamily-focused benefitsWellness incentives Description Leads in developing philosophy, goals, and objectives for procedural areas at EUHM, including Perioperative servicesFunctions as part of an OR Steering/Executive Committee team consisting of the Anesthesiology Chief, Surgery Medical Director, Chief of Surgery, and Perioperative DirectorProvides administrative and financial accountability for planning, directing, staffing, coordinating, and controlling functions and activities of all phases of the Perioperative Services Department and Procedural areas including:Operating Room, Pre-/Postoperative Units, Anesthesia Preoperative Clinic, Cardiology, Cath Lab, COA, Procedural, Radiology, GI, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing (oversight)Designs, develops, organizes, directs, measures, and promotes Perioperative Services and Procedural area programs to the medical staff and communityPromotes increased case volume/market share through:Development and provision of operationally marketable surgery programsAssurance of positive relations with SurgeonsProvision of patient service-oriented surgical programsDevelopment, promotion, and implementation of new surgical procedures with individual Surgeon groups or surgical sections that result in financially viable increased case volumeManages the overall operations of the Procedural areas to include Perioperative Services and Cardiology Procedural areas in accordance with Hospital administered policies, standards of nursing practices, and governmental regulationsProvides nursing and operational accountability for the quality improvement program in collaboration with the OR Executive CommitteeImplements standards, administers clinical practice, evaluates clinical outcomes, and maintains patients' clinical recordsWorks collaboratively with other members of the OR Committee, medical staff, Cardiology, other Hospital Departmental Managers, and Hospital AdministrationPlans, directs, coordinates, implements, delegates, controls, and evaluates the continuity of care, quality of care, and customer servicesEstablishes systems for care management including assessments, care planning, and discharge planningMonitors and assures compliance with regulatory and accrediting organizations and Hospital policiesCompletes and approves annual operations and capital expense budgets; directs necessary analysis and presents proposed budgets to the governing body for final approvalDevelops, implements, monitors, and measures programs for staff recruitment and retentionParticipates in all standing committeesCommunicates with Physicians and works closely with the Medical Directors to maintain high standards of medical care and develop client relationships with SurgeonsCollaborates with associates in the development and review of recommended changes of policies and procedures and quality improvement indicatorsPossesses knowledge of professional standards, principles, and proceduresDemonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skillsPossesses knowledge of Joint Commission guidelines and state/federal regulations and standardsDemonstrates strong financial, marketing, and personnel management skillsDemonstrates strong project management and change management skillsDemonstrates strong strategic planning skillsDemonstrates leadership skills with emphasis on staff retentionDemonstrates knowledge of computer systems and software

 

Minimum Qualifications: (Must have)

 

- Registered Nurse (RN) with valid state licensure required

- Master's degree in nursing, health administration, or business administration required

- Seven years of OR experience with progressive OR management experience required

- Three to five years of Director experience preferred

- Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Georgia (or eligible)

- Strong communication and organizational/planning skills with demonstrated leadership abilities

- Extensive experience in overseeing Perioperative and Cardiology service lines and nursing practice in a complex, fast-paced academic hospital system preferred
