VP, Real Estate Investment Banking

Job Summary
The Raymond James Real Estate Debt Solutions / Real Estate Investment Banking team seeks a VP for the Nashville office. The VP will work with an established team, focusing on debt placement for commercial real estate investors across various property types in North America. Responsibilities include underwriting, market research, preparing marketing materials, negotiating term sheets, and closing deals. Under direct direction uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to assist in making market in assigned securities. May work in product disciplines of Corporate Bonds and Preferred; Government Securities; Mortgage-Backed Securities; Municipal Securities. Works independently on complex assignments that are broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with orders, relates bids and offers within established limits for in-house inventories.
• Prepare pitch materials and offering memoranda for debt placement transactions.
• Lead the execution process for financing transactions.
• Engage with clients through transaction update calls and financing guidance meetings.
• Network within the industry and participate in real estate trade organizations.
• Attend weekly pipeline meetings to discuss deal flow and market conditions.
• Maintain a database of transaction feedback and executions
• Assist with marketing and trading support to Financial Advisors.
• Assist with underwriting and maintains trading inventories balanced and up-to-date within approved guidelines.
• Disseminates information to the sales force on a timely basis.
• Assist with Generating new sales ideas, new products and cost controls.
• Answers telephones for quotes, orders and information.
• Leads the work of others and provides ideas and help to enhance client relationships.
• Troubleshoots operational and administrative issues.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Proven track record of closing transactions across various asset classes.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and writing skills.

Ability to
• Read, interpret, analyze and apply information from industry data
• Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the Fixed Income area of the financial services industry. 5-10 years of commercial real estate capital markets experience.

• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
