Southwire Job DescriptionJob Summary/Objective:
Southwire’s Vice President of Retail Sales oversees and leads all aspects of the company’s key retail accounts. This
position plays a critical role in developing and implementing retail strategies, driving business growth, and ensuring the
overall success of the company’s retail position. The Vice President of Retail Sales reports directly to Southwire’s Chief
Commercial Officer and collaborates with other internal and external senior executives to align Southwire’s goals with
our customer’s.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that align with the overall business objectives to meet
and exceed retail sales targets, while identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, emerging
markets, and untapped customer segments.
· Lead, mentor, and manage the retail sales team by fostering a high-performance culture that emphasizes
accountability, ongoing development, and continuous improvement through effective coaching, training, and
succession planning.
· Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess retail team performance and operational
efficiency, proactively identifying trends and areas for improvement, and driving initiatives to enhance sales
outcomes and customer satisfaction.
· Define and articulate a strategic vision for retail operations, setting a clear direction that promotes customer-
centric growth, ensures business profitability, and creates long-term value for the organization and its retail
partners.
· Oversee financial performance and accountability, managing budgets, revenue forecasts, expense control, and
profitability metrics for retail channels, ensuring adherence to financial targets and identifying opportunities to
optimize profitability.
· Track and analyze sales metrics, market trends, and competitive intelligence, providing actionable insights and
data-driven recommendations to executive leadership to inform strategic decisions and ensure the company
remains competitive and responsive to market dynamics.
· Drive retail expansion and growth initiatives by evaluating potential channels, partnerships, and markets,
developing and executing plans to expand service offerings and improve market penetration while ensuring
scalability and sustainability.
· Collaborate closely with merchandising teams to curate optimal product assortments that align with customer
preferences, market demand, and business objectives, maximizing sales and profitability across retail channels.
· Ensure operational excellence and process optimization by implementing best practices, improving workflows,
and utilizing technology to enhance the overall retail customer experience, streamline operations, and reduce
costs.
· Work in partnership with marketing teams to design, develop, and execute innovative retail marketing
campaigns and promotional strategies that effectively target customer segments, increase brand visibility, and
drive foot traffic and sales growth across retail channels.
Education, Experience, and Skills
Required
Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Business, Marketing, or related field
Years of Experience: 15+
