ADP is hiring a VP Strategy and Operations

 

The VP Strategy & Operations will set our strategic direction, oversee portfolio management, and help orchestrate cross-functional initiatives to operationalize our strategy. The leader will manage key processes spanning across Product Management, R&D and Global Enterprise & Technology Solutions (GETS), including strategic planning, product portfolio planning and prioritization for operating plan as well as drive process improvements and accelerate adoption of industry best practices. Additionally, this leader will serve as Executive Sponsor for GPT Learning & Development, communications, and associate incentive programs and events (e.g., iClub) – helping to set direction and priorities in alignment with overall HR talent strategies for GPT (Global Product & Technology).

 

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with leadership, management, collaboration, and effective cross-functional communication capabilities. Proven business leadership with a focus on strategy and planning, results accountability, and financial management.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management: Lead the annual strategic planning cycle for the Global Product & Technology organization at ADP, including ongoing portfolio analysis to help maximize product investments as well as strategic initiative prioritization and tradeoffs. Executive Communications: Drive planning, creation and overall execution of materials on our GPT strategy and progress for executive and external audiences (e.g., GPT Strategic Plan, Board of Directors meetings, Industry Analyst updates, Investor messaging). Strategic Program Management: Act as single point of contact in the prioritization of strategic initiatives and oversee execution across Product Management, R&D and GETS. Build centralized dashboards / scorecards and other reporting as needed focusing on quality KPIs. Identify opportunities to reduce friction in GPT processes and improve GPT associate productivity or effectiveness. Create and execute on action plans to address.  Continuous improvement: Develop, implement and continuously refine best practices to improve productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.  Learning & Development: Acts as the executive sponsor and strategic advisor to our GPT Learning & Development team to drive our associate development strategy and learning priorities (e.g., HCM domain training). Communication: Supports the internal GPT associate communication strategy and team.

Qualifications:

Strategy & Operations Management: 15+ years’ experience with management consulting, corporate strategy and technology organizations, including operations management (e.g., as a product manager, in product development, or in product operations); this role requires strong experience and deep knowledge of end-to-end product lifecycle activities from concept to product development, requirements gathering, release planning, go-to-market activities, post-implementation support and customer adoption. Cross-Functional Collaboration: A successful leader should be able to collaborate effectively with different teams such as Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support to ensure that the product meets the needs of all stakeholders. Leadership: The successful leader will need to demonstrate excellent leadership skills while setting priorities and making decisions that will impact the success of the program.  A strong talent magnet who can attract, retain, and grow talent. Can set direction while being able to jump into details when needed. Operational Excellence: This leader should be able to create and implement processes and systems that ensure operational excellence across the organization. Data-Driven Decision Making: The ability to make data-driven decisions is essential for this role to tracking and analyzing product metrics to inform product strategy and drive business outcomes. Impactful Reporting and Executive Communications: This leader should be able to create and present clear and concise reports that communicate performance and progress to executive stakeholders. Trusted team player: Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; Be “humble, hungry & smart”. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Able to communicate with technical and business experts at all levels of the organization. Grace Under Pressure: You thrive in a fast-moving, agile environment and are comfortable managing competing priorities and rallying an organization to change direction as necessary. Strong educational credentials; M.B.A. or a related advanced degree is preferred.
