PRIMARY FUNCTION

The VP, Total Rewards, is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive enterprise-wide total rewards strategies and philosophy that align with our organization’s goals.  Incumbent will strategically partner with leaders in developing innovative and equitable compensation and benefits programs aimed at attracting, motivating and retaining talent; provide expertise for organizational growth (M&As), ensure compliance with legal requirements, and drive business results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and align the total rewards strategy and philosophy with organizational goals. Lead the total rewards value proposition for clinicians and non-clinicians to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. Establish a consistent total rewards operating model that is simple, scalable and measurable. Serve as a subject matter expert with incentive programs, compensation and benefits plan designs, participation in market compensation surveys, and annual analysis of compensation and market adjustments. Model and maintain base pay programs and pay structures. Lead benchmarking analysis as needed to develop or enhance current job architecture, job families / functions and ensure pay equity and competitive pay targets. Evaluates and provides recommendations on new positions and new hire compensation, pay decisions, adjustments, policy and guideline interpretations, and job evaluations. Actively leads Merger and Acquisition due diligence as it relates to total rewards, OccHealth and payroll programs for clinicians and non-clinicians.  Conducts in depth analysis relative to M&A job mapping, development of geographic pay philosophies, salary and incentives. Coordinates and promotes awareness and education of core compensation processes, including job documentation and evaluation process to develop and maintain standardized job descriptions for all roles. Provides analysis of compensation programs to ensure compliance with state and federal legislations such as FLSA. Assist in the development and maintenance of specialized TR programs, retention programs, succession plans, incentive plans, and recognition programs. Oversee and analyze our health and welfare, fringe benefits and retirement programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance. Manages the employee group insurance plans, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, including overseeing benefits orientation of new and current employees, processing enrollments and changes, and processing claims for life benefits. Oversee the administration ADA and all leaves, including but not limited to, Family and Medical Leave, Workers Compensation Leave, Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, and Short- and Long-Term Disability. Partner with external vendors, brokers, and consultants to negotiate contracts, analyze plan performance, and stay informed about industry trends and best practices. Directs the development and negotiation of contracts with service providers and develops performance and quality standards for same Advises employees on state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures, and classification programs; prepares and communicates information to employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations governing employee benefits, such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA. Review compensation, benefits, OccHealth, and payroll business processes and practices and identify opportunities to minimize cost, streamline, automate and enhance processes through optimization, resources, systems, applications while keeping within budget expectations. Oversee the entire payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Develop and implement comprehensive payroll strategies, including policies and procedures, to optimize efficiency and compliance. Manage the entire payroll cycle, including time and attendance data collection, calculations, deductions, and distribution of paychecks. Conduct regular payroll audits to identify and address discrepancies, ensuring data integrity Generate accurate payroll reports and analysis for budgeting, forecasting, and management decision-making. Collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting and HR to streamline processes and monitor payroll systems and applications and resolve issues timely. Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and SLAs/metrics and monitor the integrity and validity of data. Analyze data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of total rewards, OccHealth and payroll programs and make data-driven decisions to optimize outcomes. Facilitate partnerships across HR, Operations, and Finance to enhance Total Rewards strategies. Build and develop an exceptional team across various roles and coach them to excellence. Lead and develop Compensation, Benefits, Occupational Health and Payroll teams, ensuring ongoing training and compliance. Serves as a mentor and trainer for total rewards, OccHealth and payroll team members; provide performance management feedback.  Develop goals, objectives, and accountability, developing individual Personal Development Plans and contributing to performance management for employees. May perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Compensation, Benefits, OccHealth and Payroll teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance/accounting, or a related field. Experience may be commensurate with education.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 7 years relevant experience with education requirement met.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of HR laws and regulations related to all aspects of compensation, benefits, and payroll management. Knowledge of state/federal requirements; benefits and payroll regulations and compliance requirements. Ability to manage multiple and completing tasks and prioritizes with flexibility, ownership, and reliable follow-up. The candidate must possess strong project/program management skills and be comfortable working autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment. Strategic thinker focusing on long-term large-scale solution and a hands-on operator rolling up sleeves to fix issues when needed. Strong attention to details and exceptional organizational skills are both required qualities. Self-starter, strong business ethics, and drives results. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Aptitude toward taking initiative to correct problems or drive improvement without waiting for direction. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with the management team, and at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships. Outstanding ability to manage multiple priorities, facilitation skills, and personal leadership. General knowledge of Merger and Acquisition best practices.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Non-patient facing Hybrid – works onsite & remote office environment Must be FL based. Involves frequent telephone interaction. May require sitting or standing for long periods. Stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Occasionally lifting files, boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. View and type on computer screens for long periods. Work in a high-volume, rapidly changing environment
