**Your Job:**
The Vice President and Assistant CIO reports to the SVP and CIO with a dotted line to the Methodist Health System Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The individual will have infrastructure responsibility for enterprise wide Information Technology (IT) Applications including Epic, Workday and the Project Management Office. The role will also include working in partnership with CIO to support the overall IT function including innovation, finance, and regulatory compliance. Role requires strategic alignment of IT expansion and deployments with Methodist Health System’s clinical and business objectives. This is an on-site and in-person role.
The role will work with the CIO, VP of Operations/Security and Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) to assure IT strategic objectives are aligned and clearly communicated throughout the IT organizational structure. The individual will partner closely with all functional areas of IT and Health Informatics to ensure effective collaboration between the groups.
**Your Job Requirements:**
+ 10+ years’ experience in a health care organization, preferable with a large scale hospital and physician footprint.
+ 5+ years of IT applications management experience.
+ 5+ years of leadership experience managing large scale enterprise applications in a complex IT environment.
+ 3+ years of experience working with EPIC required.
+ BS, BSc or BBA degree required.
+ MS or MBA preferred.
+ CHIME or CHCIO certification a plus.
**Your Job Responsibilities:**
+ Develops strategic plans identifying IT applications to support business plans or create new strategic options in collaboration with CIO.
+ Plans and controls staffing and development, organization, hardware acquisitions and facilities for the information systems department to assure that they are consistent with and supportive of the business plans of MHS.
+ Directs the design, development and maintenance of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the needs of MHS.
+ Partners with CIO to control the information systems expense budget to contribute to a cost effective operation.
+ Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of systems and hardware to assure that new developments are incorporated in future systems of MHS.
+ Keep abreast of state-of-the-art developments within IT and emerging technologies.
+ Supervise IT department personnel, including specialists in cybersecurity, systems analysis, clinical and billing applications, programmers, telecommunication, and IT operations.
+ In partnership with CIO and stakeholders across MHS assess and mitigates risks related to cybersecurity.

+ Develops strategic plans identifying Health Informatics applications to support business plans or create new strategic options.
+ A comprehensive knowledge of the health care information systems technology subjects and extensive knowledge of hardware and software, with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies.
**Oversight Of:**
+ Overall Epic new release compliance, timing and management of readiness.
+ Epic modules - Security, Interfaces/Integrations, Cogito analytics, MyChart, Care Every Where, EpicCareLink, Healthy Planet Ambulatory Clinical. Also Revenue Cycle including Inpatient and ambulatory Billing, Collections, Scheduling, Referrals and HIM.
+ Third party products that are required and integrated with Epic.
+ Workday IT responsibilities of Integrations, Security, Cloud Tenant Management and Integration with Hyland OnBase.
+ Change Control Management for Epic and Workday.
+ Other large enterprise systems such as API Time and Attendance. Hyland OnBase, 3M HIM integrations, Performance Analytics integrations.
+ The Epic Community Connect offerings to the JV hospitals and clinics and 2 physician groups.
+ Project Management team.
+ Biomedical Engineering management and budgets.
**Involved With:**
+ Regulatory matters affecting healthcare IT.
+ HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements.
+ Review to Legal contracts for IT and/or involving IT.
+ IT budgets.
**Scope:**
Scope of duties covers 7 MHS hospitals and the 75+ ambulatory clinics. Serving as the liaison between hospital, physician administration and corporate administration to ensure alignment in IT application matters. Work with the hospitals to continually foster goodwill and a collaborative relationship with the physician community in all issues pertaining to information systems.
