You will be responsible for overseeing the business development and sales function in European region. Oversees the development, identification and pursuit of strategic business opportunities and partnerships for Defense products. Responsible for increasing the company’s sales and market share. Lead, coach and develop the Business Development Team for all pursuits.
Primarily focus on the regional growth strategy and driving profitability and growth in the region in all market spaces.Manage a $1B pipeline of sales opportunities and grow the European market US$50M+ market in 3 years.Manage the sales process with an emphasis on predictable growth and success in programmatic business development.Meet or Exceed Bookings Forecast for Region.Develop BDS Team structure to be located near significant end users and OEMs.Mentor, lead and leverage professional business development sales team to promote, develop, and conclude the sales of Tdy FLIR Systems products into the territory.Coach and develop skill set of BDS team to sell profitable solutions.Travel to support trade shows, customer demonstrations and other business development activities in a cost effective manner consistent with company policy and under budget as defined by line manager.Develop intelligence on competitors in the marketplace.Timely Reporting of Sales Forecasts and Activities.Travel of approx. 130 days annually in the region to develop the business.Ability to work independently from remote office located within the territory. Supervisory responsibility of a team of 20 with 5 direct reports.Job Qualifications: Including minimum education, work experience, knowledge & skills necessary
Degree educated required – Masters PreferredExperience Required: 10 years of Strategic Selling with a strong emphasis on Government sales and Government (primarily military) end customers in the Europe region. Proven experience in business development and leadership roles.Europe based.Ethical positive communicator that focuses on strengths and encourages team to perform at highest level.Must have strong understanding of European OEM procurement and EU government procurement processes.Must have ability to work cross cultural issues.Familiarity and adherence to ITAR and European export regulations.Strict Adherent to US FCPA and UK Anti-Bribery (Transparency) laws.Customer contacts and proven cross-cultural familiarity and language skills within the territory a plus.Ability to respond to Government Tenders and preparation of complicated proposals and presentations. Strong and persuasive writing skills.Working knowledge of international representative selling organizations and distribution channels.Technically adept and able to produce compelling presentations and briefings to win key selling accounts.Ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures. Strong problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.Outstanding strategic, communication, cross functional influence, group facilitation, active listening, and organizational skillsConsistently exercise tact and handle information that is confidential, sensitive, or controversialExcellent written and verbal communication skills, across all-levels of business and our customers.Competent in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and MS CRM.
