Profile Summary
This position will lead the legal team that negotiates trading arrangements such as ISDAs, master repurchase agreements, futures agreements and associated collateral and custody agreements for our investment teams in Voya Investment Management (“Voya IM”). The investment teams that this position will primarily support are based in Atlanta and New York. The ability to work in Voya’s Atlanta or New York office 2-3 days a week is preferred.
The Contributions You'll Make
Primarily responsible for legal review and negotiation of trading arrangements In-depth knowledge of applicable asset management regulations, including Dodd Frank, CFTC, SEC, and FINRA regulations, and certain non-US regulatory regimes.Collaborate with internal teams, including trading desks, compliance, and risk management.Manage documentation specialist and/or other legal professionals.Provide legal support to the Voya IM investment advisory, trust company, insurance company, investment company, private fund, commingled fund, and pension fund investment activities. Conduct research, draft contracts, correspondence, and minutes. Monitor and advise on advisory regulatory matters. Partner with counsel in affiliated Voya Financial companies to facilitate business activities. Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with Voya IM colleagues and partners, colleagues in Voya Financial, and external clients and counterparties. Adhere to department and company policies and procedures, including confidentiality. Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor Degree. 7-12 years’ overall experience, with enough of that time being spent negotiating trading arrangements to enable the candidate to work independently on such matters. Voya IM is a leading private credit manager for affiliated and unaffiliated insurance company general accounts. Experience with insurance regulations related to managing insurance company general account assets is a plus. Strong relationship management skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and to work either independently or as a team member. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Outlook. Reliable, self-starter, detail-oriented, well organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.#L!-JS1
Compensation Pay Disclosure:

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
