This role is a member of the executive leadership team for Vilter, the Copeland Industrial business division, led by the VP & GM. The successful candidate will drive the functional and strategic vision for engineering, and the execution of our technology and software roadmap to drive profitable growth in a globally expanding business. We are seeking a VP Engineering who is innovative, technically adept, execution oriented, as well as a developer of talent. **As the VP Engineering, you will:** + Develop and implement strategies to ensure technical leadership of existing product lines as well as research and design of new products and technologies as the business expands globally + Set the strategic vision and metrics for the department to deliver on business objectives inclusive of the product/software roadmap, product enhancements, product improvements and cost reductions + Develop a roadmap for the engineering function to accomplish a transition from highly engineered, to more configurable product offerings with broader geographic reach + Participate in the Copeland Global Engineering Leadership Team to build and leverage standard processes to achieve broader Copeland engineering vision and performance targets + Align engineering priorities to meet business needs. Collaborate across functions to get feedback, solve problems, promote standard processes, and understand the impact of initiatives + Provide leadership and guidance to the engineering organization + Hire, mentor, engage, and develop talent, providing paths for career growth and ongoing succession management + Set and regulate engineering budget aligned to the financial goals of the business + Ensure the establishment and administration of sound quality controls to acquire and secure continued certification and compliance of the technology function **Required education, experiences & skills:** + Bachelors in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) + 15+ years of relevant professional experience + 10+ years leading and developing engineering teams in industrial, manufactured product, and/or project environments + Experience leading and directing work for global engineering teams + Excellent communication (written and oral) and organization skills + Proven track record of successful New Product Development and R&D + Demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external customers + Able to travel 25% + Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future **Preferred education, experiences & skills** + MBA + Knowledge of Compression technology and systems including heat exchangers, gas separation and/or treatment applications in process gas or refrigeration applications. + Experience leading development of configuration tools for customer selection, model based engineering design (Inventor iLogic), and ERP configuration for project execution (Oracle) + Experience with NPD and R&D within a manufacturing industrial enterprise + Familiarity with Electronics (starters, motors) and Controls (PLC, microprocessor) technology including data acquisition, data analytics, and diagnostics. + Familiarity with Engineering Design Codes such as ASME, PED, B31.3 and B31.5, and international design codes including related quality efforts + Ability to evaluate and navigate new technologies including patents **Why Work in the Greater Milwaukee Area** Cudahy is a quaint community located in Milwaukee County, where clean neighborhoods mingle with acres of parkland, major transportation access, and big-city attractions all within an arm's reach, with a small-town feel.
