A Day in the Life:
The VP Financial Analysis is responsible for value-added analytics and special projects to improve results. The role leads a team of finance professionals and is responsible for end-to-end analysis projects, from identifying value-added analysis, prioritization, structuring the work, monitoring progress, reviewing the output, and presenting recommendations to the senior leadership team. The scope of work is focused on insights and recommendations and will include customer segment and brand profitability, fleet management optimization, productivity initiatives, and other industry and strategic analysis. The VP Financial Analytics is a member of the FP&A leadership team, expected to contribute positive energy and teamwork while developing culture and future leaders. The role is highly visible and provides opportunity to drive business improvement, to gain broad perspective on Hertz’s business, and direct interaction with the senior leadership team.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with finance leadership and senior leadership team to identify high value analytics and projects to help drive long-term business improvement. Drive insights into profitability levers, to enhance revenue per unit, lower fleet carrying costs, and optimization of operating and SG&A costs. Develop and publish customer segmentation and profitability tracking, engaging with business leaders on recommendations and continuously refining methodology. Develop and nurture relationships across the finance team and broader organization, to gain access to data and experts and insight on high-value analytic opportunities. Lead the sourcing, planning, execution, and presentation of special projects, ensuring projects are appropriately selected, analytics are solid, and insights are converted into recommendations. Prepare comprehensive presentations to articulate the past and future performance, drivers, and create the narrative of the company performance Lead industry and competitive intelligence, to inform the SLT on industry trends, peer benchmarking, and macro-economic dynamics and associated opportunities. Directly assist CFO, SVP, or other EVPs with special projects, which could be analysis of a new opportunity, developing a new framework, or assisting with key FP&A processes. Support team deliverables as requested, to ensure solid understanding of results, presentation of the forecast, and appropriate story telling for earnings and board meetings. Provide support for Investor Relations to assist with addressing analyst questions/issues. As needed, support corporate development, acquisition, disposition and goodwill analysis.What We’re Looking For:
Educational Background: University degree in finance, engineering, or another highly analytical discipline. MBA or another analytical advanced degree preferred.Professional Experience:
Career track record of 12+ years of progressive advancement in financial analysis roles, in a large, publicly traded company known for developing financial talent and industry leaders. Broad and deep finance experience, covering FP&A, corporate finance, operations finance, corporate development, and direct interaction and partnership with accounting, treasury, and tax. Demonstrated experience leading significant analytics, long-term planning, insights and recommendations, and cross-functional and business partnership, which delivered significant value.Leadership Competencies:
