VP Financial Crime Sanctions

US Sanctions is a sub function of Financial Crime. Its purpose is to oversee, manage and risk steward the end to end Sanctions Program for HSBC US.

As our VP Financial Crime Sanctions you will:

Assists in the development, administration, and implementation of the Sanctions compliance programReviews financial crime related regulations, guidance papers, etc for potential impacts to the Bank.Serve as primary contact on behalf of the sanctions compliance team on external reviews, e.g., Office of the Comptroller (OCC) and internal audits and assurance reviewsIdentifies and reports all significant regulatory compliance breaches or gaps to senior management. Collaborate with senior management and relevant internal parties to ensure development and implementation of solutions to prevent future occurrenceIdentify and lead on implementing bank initiatives and transformation projects into the sanctions compliance programPerforms gap analysis of local policies and procedures to maintain alignment to the Global standards and emerging regulations and works with procedure owners to address gapsLeads the sanctions team through the yearly Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA)Own suite of sanctions-related Management Information (MI)Perform analysis on sanctions related Key Risk Indicators and Key Performance Indicators.Responsible for reviewing and challenging the nature, frequency and the execution of the control monitoring records and activities for all sanctions related controlsAdheres strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with Company and regulatory standards, policies and practices; reports control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss eventsSupports the US Head of Sanctions in the management of the Sanctions Program

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $131,900.00 and $197,800.00

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Knowledge of US Sanctions programs and Export ControlsMust have demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and assignments, including providing updates to stakeholders varying in seniority and involvement, summarizing potential risks and impacts, and offering solutions and recommendationsExperience in handling large amounts of data to identify trends or summarize sanctions riskMinimum of three years proven audit, compliance, financial services operations and/or regulatory experience, or equivalentGood interpersonal, organizational, communications, analytical and project management skillsMaintain excellent communication and influencing skills and possess gravitas and strong leadership type traitsHave good knowledge of Risk Management frameworks, with a focus on Non-Financial Risk ManagementMaintain a positive, upbeat attitude and work ethic and works well in the teamwork environmentProficient in Microsoft Office applications and demonstrates an innovative and proactive approach to building new and advanced MI and reporting analyticsBachelor’s degree or equivalent at minimum; graduate degree a plus
